In September 2008, after the College of Pharmacy moved into the Pharmacy Building on the East Campus of Sun Yat-sen University, the leadership of the College consolidated the resources of large-scale instruments and set up a centralized laboratory, which manages and maintains large-scale public **** instruments and equipment purchased by the College with the funds of 985 and 211, based on the principle of "unified management and **** enjoyment of resources", and guarantees the normal and efficient operation of instruments and equipment to give full play to their effectiveness, and creates a good platform for scientific research and teaching work. To ensure the normal and efficient operation of the equipment, give full play to the effectiveness of the instrument, for the College and the entire Sun Yat-sen University research and teaching work to create a good public **** instrument service platform.
Central Laboratory is currently unified management, maintenance of more than 60 sets of large and medium-sized equipment, the total value of more than 40 million yuan, the application of areas involved in drug synthesis and structure identification, screening and evaluation of new drugs, drug dosage form research and other new drug research and development and various aspects of the discipline of pharmacy. In order to ensure the normal operation of the equipment, the center has established a management mode involving the leading group of professor consultants and full-time technicians***; and has formulated various regulations, including the system of dedicated instrument management, training and online reservation system, open management system, charging system and maintenance system, etc., which has effectively smoothened the relationship between management, maintenance and use of the instruments, improved the utilization rate and the rate of intactness of the instruments, and contributed to the promotion of the scientific research, teaching and research work of the college and to the improvement of the quality of the instruments. It will play an important role in promoting the scientific research and teaching work of the college and the overall development of pharmacy discipline.
As a public ****service platform of the college, all the instruments in the center are open to all the teachers and students of the college. After training and reservation, all the teachers and students of the college can use the instruments independently for scientific research according to the operating procedures of the instruments. In order to meet the scientific research and teaching work in the hospital at the same time, the center instruments are also actively open to other departments on campus, off-campus enterprises and institutions of higher education instrument resources, give full play to the effectiveness of the instrumentation, service to the community, and to promote the development of the regional economy.
