Can waste incinerators burn medical waste?

In principle, no. In the face of the current environment of the new crown epidemic, access to co-disposal of domestic waste incineration plants or hazardous waste disposal centers are able to incinerate medical waste.

Usually, epidemic-related medical waste needs to be disposed of directly by the Medical Waste Disposal Center, and non-epidemic-related medical waste that exceeds the disposal capacity of the Medical Waste Disposal Center can be transferred to a co-disposal domestic waste incineration plant or hazardous waste disposal center for disposal.

The co-disposal unit needs to complete the disposal work in accordance with the State Council Decree No. 380, "Regulations on the Management of Medical Waste" and other relevant laws and regulations.
