As of 2010, Ningnan County has identified more than 20 kinds of mineral deposits of lead, zinc, copper, sulfur, iron, coal, phosphorus and asbestos, barite, marble, etc., of which 130 million tons of iron ore reserves, more than 400,000 metal tons of lead ore reserves, more than 50,000 metal tons of copper ore reserves, limestone throughout the 25 townships and cities in Ningnan County. It is a national "Grade 2A" comprehensive hospital and "Baby Friendly Hospital" which integrates medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention and physical examination.
