In May 2005, it was designated as a key specialty of traditional Chinese medicine in Gansu Province by the Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. At the same time, it is also the training base for master students of Gansu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the training point for academic heirs of famous and old Chinese medicine in China.
