The interventional treatment of cardiac arrhythmia is one of the main focuses of the department. Our department has a long history of arrhythmia interventional therapy and mature technology. In the 1970s, we began to implant permanent pacemakers; in the 1990s, we carried out intracardiac electrophysiological labeling, radiofrequency ablation, and pacemaker implantation; and in 2002, we carried out triple-chamber pacing for the treatment of heart failure. Since the development of arrhythmia interventional diagnosis and treatment in the 1970s, our department has carried out more than 1,500 cases of pacemaker implantation and more than 3,000 cases of radiofrequency ablation. 151 pacemaker implantations were carried out in 2006, 202 in 2007, and 217 in 2008; and 247 radiofrequency ablations were carried out in 2006, 375 in 2007, and 387 in 2008.
