At the beginning of 2 1 century, in the Okinawa Charter of the Global Information Society held in Okinawa, the Group of Eight held that "information and communication technology is one of the most powerful driving forces for social development in 2 1 century, and will soon become an important driving force for world economic growth."
In fact, the understanding of ICT in the information and communication industry is not uniform. As a technology, it is generally understood that ICT can not only provide various services based on broadband and high-speed communication networks, but also transmit and enjoy information. It is also a general intelligent tool. As for how much business there will be and how smart this tool will be, the current concept is still very vague. Triple play is only a foundation and prelude of ICT, and IPTV and mobile TV are probably just the tip of the iceberg.
Similarities between CT and IT enterprises
Both CT and IT belong to the information industry, with similar industrial characteristics, and many nodes in the industrial chain overlap, complement each other and are inseparable. On the one hand, many IT vendors are also suppliers of CT equipment, such as equipment suppliers that produce network switches and routers. On the other hand, CT itself is the main customer of IT service industry. For example, in 2004, the telecommunications industry accounted for 17.9% of the IT service market structure in China, second only to the financial industry (18.6%).
At the same time, in the process of informatization, the integration of IT and CT is getting closer and closer. Usually, a successful information application system must organically combine IT and CT knowledge and resources, such as distance education, telemedicine, e-agriculture, e-government, e-commerce, information security and other fields.
