POM, also known as polyoxymethylene, is a non-toxic, hard, dense material with a smooth and glossy surface, which is used for automotive parts, instruments, machine tools and so on.
POM has high strength and stiffness, and its mechanical properties are very similar to those of metal materials. It is slightly weaker in impact resistance than ABS and PS plastics, has excellent wear resistance and good self-lubrication.
It is mainly used for gears and bearings, excellent fatigue resistance, fatigue strength up to 35MPa, higher than PA and PC materials, excellent electrical insulation, not affected by temperature and humidity.
Applications
Automotive industry: POM plastic material used in the manufacture of automotive half shafts, planetary gear pads, etc. not only saves copper, but also improve the service life. It can also be used to make radiator hose valves. Radiator box cover, water pump, impeller, gear housing, carburetor shell, gas pedal parts and heater fan, control rods. Various types of switches, bearing brackets, regulator handles, brakes and washing pumps and other parts.
Electrical and electronic appliances: can be used for license electric wrench shell, switch handle, but also to make telephone, radio, tape recorder, video recorder, television, and computer, fax machine parts, timer parts, tape recorders, tape recorders, tape holders and so on.
Mechanical equipment: used in the manufacture of a variety of gears, rollers, bearings, conveyor belts, springs, cams, bolts, a variety of pumps, shell title, impeller friction bearing housing and other mechanical equipment, structural components.
Other aspects: POM plastic material can also be used to make tap, frame windows, wash basins, water tanks, door curtain pulleys, water meter shells and water pipe joints. In addition, it can also be used for aerosol packaging, oil pipelines, parts immersed in oil and standard resistance panels.
