Fuzhou East Promotes Urban-Rural Integration Development Pilot Area

Recently, the Development and Reform Commission of Fujian Province issued a "Notice on the Issuance of the Implementation Plan of the National Urban-Rural Integrated Development Pilot Area (Eastern Area of Fuzhou, Fujian)".

In order to promote the construction of the National Urban and Rural Integration Development Pilot Zone (Fujian Fuzhou Eastern Area), this implementation program is formulated in accordance with the requirements of the National Development and Reform Commission and other eighteen ministries and commissions' Notice on the Work of the National Urban and Rural Integration Development Pilot Zone (Development and Reform Planning [2019] No. 1947).

It is reported that the National Urban and Rural Integration Development Pilot Area Fujian Fuzhou East Area, covering Cangshan District, Changle District, Mawei District, Fuqing City, Minhou County, Lianjiang County, Luoyuan County, Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone, and Xiapu County, Ningde City, with an implementation area of about 8,935 square kilometers, and a resident population of 5.22 million people. By the end of 2019, the gross regional product will reach 567.5 billion yuan, the per capita gross regional product will be 108,725 yuan, and the total income of the general public **** budget will be 35.8 billion yuan, laying a solid material foundation for carrying out the exploration of integrated urban and rural development.

According to the requirements of the National Urban and Rural Integration Development Pilot Area Reform Program, tightly focusing on the objectives of the experiment and based on the actual situation of the province, the pilot area will strive to take the lead in making breakthroughs in the innovation of the institutional mechanism for urban and rural integration and development by 2022; the systematic obstacles hindering the flow of urban and rural elements will be significantly reduced; the gap between urban and rural basic public **** services will be gradually narrowed; and the mechanism for the integrated development of urban and rural infrastructures will be preliminarily established, and a number of replicable and generalizable reform and innovation measures formed.
