Understanding of the medical laboratory technology profession

Today I want to officially return to my job and professional field to answer questions, because I have been working for nearly 30 years and have a relatively deep experience.

Whether medical testing is good or not, let’s talk face to face with the following:

1. Employment

The employment field of medical testing is relatively broad, including hospitals at all levels and blood stations. , third-party inspections, community service centers, centers for disease prevention and control, etc. are all inseparable from inspection personnel. In addition, the sales of medical devices, inspection reagents and consumables also require inspection professionals, as well as work in commodity inspection, environmental protection, customs and quarantine departments, etc., so , don’t worry about finding a job.

2. Work

When I first graduated, most testing items were manual operations: reagents had to be prepared by oneself, immune items had to be coated by oneself, and cell counting required both hands and eyes. , use your eyes to identify various cells in the microscope, and write them down on the counter with your hands. The biochemistry projects are all based on color comparison and calculation of results. In recent years, medical testing has developed rapidly in our country. Advanced instruments and equipment and supporting testing reagents have replaced tedious manual operations, increased testing speed, and made test results more accurate. They are indispensable for clinicians to diagnose and treat diseases. The theoretical basis for doctors to diagnose and treat diseases and use medication.

It is relatively easy to engage in medical testing work, but there are also many risks: For yourself, you are exposed to the patient's blood, urine, feces and various secretions every day, and all these test specimens are infectious. Source, if not protected, it is easy to be infected with diseases. For patients, for example, if they are slightly careless in cross-matching and mismatching blood, it will be life-threatening for the patient. Therefore, although most projects are done with instruments, we must be careful, highly responsible, do three checks and seven pairs, and strictly control quality. Be responsible to doctors, patients, and yourself.

To sell instruments, equipment and reagents and consumables, you rely on your own sales ability.

3. Treatment

In the hospital, although doctors are inseparable from and dependent on testing, the laboratory department is always considered by the leaders and doctors to be an auxiliary department, no matter what happens every day No matter how busy you are, no matter how high your monthly income is, the salary will always be lower than that of clinical departments, but of course slightly higher than that of other departments. It's about average. If it is inspected by a third party, it depends on what the boss decides.

If you are selling instruments, equipment and reagents and consumables, it depends on your own performance. Many sales people later became famous.
