Shanghai Bajiu reminds you: Dragonlab pipettes are available in various models, including whole pipes that are sterilized and half pipes that are sterilized and disinfected.
1. The following methods are available for sterilizing pipettes:
1. If the pipette cannot be sterilized in its entirety, first wrap it in a sterilization bag, tinfoil or kraft paper. The parts that need to be sterilized should be 121℃, 1bar atmospheric pressure, 20 minutes; after sterilization, completely dry at room temperature, oil the piston, and then assemble.
2. If it is a pipette that can be sterilized in its entirety (such as the German IKA pipette), the entire pipette can be placed at 121°C and 1bar atmospheric pressure for 20 minutes. High temperature and high pressure sterilization.
2. There are two methods for sterilizing pipettes:
1. Chemical disinfection. Simply put, just wipe the outer surface of the pipette with alcohol, etc., and then let it dry. This should be possible for all pipette brands; if there is a certain pipette that cannot be sterilized by chemical disinfection, it can only prove that the material of its shell is very poor.
2. UV disinfection. It uses ultraviolet rays to illuminate the surface of the pipette to achieve disinfection by destroying the DNA structure of cells. The time for UV disinfection depends on the intensity of radiation and the resistance of bacteria to UV rays. Most brands of pipettes can be disinfected with UV light, but you still need to confirm with the supplier in advance. Not all pipettes can be disinfected with UV light.
