Doing the power supply design, or to do the driver side of the circuit, inevitably need to use the MOS tube. There are many types of MOS tubes and many functions. To do power supply or driver use, of course, is to use its switching function.
Whether N-type or P-type MOS tube, its working principle is essentially the same, the MOS tube is added to the input gate voltage to control the output side of the drain current.
The MOS tube is a voltage-controlled device which controls the characteristics of the device by the voltage added to the gate, and does not occur like a triode switching due to the base current caused by the charge storage effect, so in the switching application, the switching speed of the MOS tube should be faster than the triode.
