Daxing District Detailed Information

Daxing District is a district under Beijing, located in the southern part of the city, with the new city 13 kilometers north of the city center, making it the closest suburb to downtown Beijing. It is one of the first batch of satellite cities approved by the State Council for the capital's key development in 1984; Beijing New City Yizhuang, or Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area. Daxing has a long history, more than 2,400 years since the pre-Qin county, one of the earliest established counties in China, the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties as the "world's first cognizant", before March 1958, belonging to Hebei Province, March 7, 1958, by the State Council's 72nd meeting decided to transfer Daxing County from Hebei Province to Beijing Municipal jurisdiction. Jixian County was a pre-Qin county built by the state of Yan during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. In the 23rd year of the First Emperor of Qin (224 BC), Qin established Guangyang County in the Jicheng area, to which Jixian County belonged.
