In the 5G commercial era, traditional industries are facing new opportunities for digitalization and upgrading, and the demand for uplink bandwidth is particularly urgent. 5G uplink rate has become a "must-have" for operators, and the development of related technologies is in full swing.
Recently, ZTE assisted China Unicom in successfully completing a millimeter wave +8K business demonstration, which is the first real business demonstration of millimeter wave DSUUU frame structure in China. This is the first real service demonstration of millimeter wave DSUUU frame structure in China. This service demonstration successfully verifies the super uplink capability of 5G millimeter wave, which is of great significance to meet the uplink large bandwidth demand of many 5G industry applications in the future.
5G development, only fast
5G era of everything is connected, especially for the traditional industrial manufacturing industry to build the industrial Internet, 5G uplink large bandwidth is absolutely just needed.
For example, in the construction of intelligent mines, because the underground coal mine massive video back to the transmission, so the large bandwidth is imperative; in the intelligent manufacturing of the AI quality inspection link, because the need for quality inspection machine back to the high-definition picture to the AI arithmetic platform, it is necessary to greatly enhance the uplink transmission rate, in order to meet the needs of the work of the quality inspection machine; the intelligent port requires uplink bandwidth enhancement program to achieve intelligent cargo, video monitoring, so as to achieve the scale of commercialization. In addition, in the smart grid, remote monitoring and control, the uplink bandwidth enhancement program is needed to realize intelligent cargo handling and video monitoring, so as to reach commercial scale. In addition, in the smart grid, telemedicine, industrial design, 5G uplink bandwidth will play the role of a needle in the sea, so as to promote 5G better enable the industry's digital transformation and upgrading.
5G uplink bandwidth is increasingly becoming a key element of productivity, and represents a greater challenge and new opportunity for communications equipment vendors and operators. ZTE is working with China Unicom to explore 5G uplink rates that are not the fastest, but faster.
Millimeter Waves Make 8K Higher Definition
In the convergence of various industries and 5G, 8K Ultra HD video is the most important, and as an important part of 5G, millimeter waves play a critical role in this.
8K UHD video has ultra-high resolution, which can greatly enhance the sense of detail and texture of the information delivered, giving the audience an immersive visual shock. Ultra-high definition means the generation of huge amounts of data. In this regard, 5G millimeter wave networks have a natural capacity advantage. By enhancing the network capacity of the uplink, the peak rate of the uplink can be increased by three times, which can effectively meet the network requirements of 8K ultra-high definition video.
In August of this year, ZTE completed the world's first millimeter-wave outfield DSUU frame structure performance test in Huairou, Beijing, under the guidance of China Unicom and in conjunction with the testing requirements of the IMT-2020 (5G) Promotion Group. The test results show that based on ZTE's 5G millimeter wave base station and DSUUU frame structure, the single-user uplink peak rate is close to 920Mbps, and the downlink rate reaches more than 2Gbps, both of which are close to the theoretical peak.
Less than half a month later, ZTE and China Unicom realized a real business demonstration of the technology, which demonstrated the superb capabilities of millimeter wave in large bandwidth, high capacity, and low latency, and will promote the rapid growth of the 5G network in the industry chain of industrial video capture, AR/VR, and live broadcasting of ultra-high-definition events.
Millimeter wave refinement
In April this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the "5G application "sail" action plan (2021-2023)," clearly put forward, the organization to carry out the development of 5G millimeter-wave base station and end-to-end testing, accelerate the technology and product maturity, lay the foundation for 5G millimeter-wave commercialization. Mature, laying the industrial foundation for commercialization of 5G millimeter wave. It can be seen that 2021 is the year of China's 5G "millimeter wave test", 5G millimeter wave industrialization will also continue to promote, so as to meet the future uplink large bandwidth needs of many 5G industry applications.
Next, ZTE will continue to work with China Unicom to promote the demonstration and commercialization of millimeter wave, maximize the technical advantages of millimeter wave's high-bandwidth, high-capacity, and low-latency technology, and promote its greater role in different network scenarios.
In particular, ZTE has now extensively carried out 5G+ innovation practices with its partners in 15 industries, including electronics manufacturing, steel, metallurgy, mining, electric power, rail transportation, ports, new media, and cultural and tourism, and has implemented more than 60 demonstration projects globally. This means that in the near future, ZTE's millimeter wave technology will provide great benefits to these industries in terms of ultra-high-definition video monitoring, multi-point concurrent uploading, and precise remote control guidance, thus promoting the digital transformation and upgrading of thousands of industries empowered by 5G to realize faster.
