Included Classifications in the Trademark Classification List

As of 2013, the International Classification*** consists of 45 classes, including 34 classes of goods and 11 classes of services, and *** contains more than 10,000 items of goods and services. The goods and services that the applicant needs to report are generally included in it. This classification is used not only by all Nice Union members, but also by non-Nice Union members. The difference is that the members of the Nice Union can participate in the revision of the classification, whereas the non-members are not authorized to do so.

The Nice Classification List consists of two parts, the Classification List of Goods and Services by Category and the Classification List of Goods and Services by Alphabetical Order. The Classification List by Category arranges goods and services in order from 1-45 categories. Each category has a category number and a heading, and the heading of each category summarizes the characteristics and scope of the goods included in the category and concludes with a list of all the items of goods or services included in the category, with each item of goods or services given a sequential number for ease of location. In addition, each category has a note on what goods are mainly included in this category, how this category is distinguished from related categories of goods, how to classify the marginal goods of the category explained, this note is very helpful in the classification of some confusing goods categories. The other part is the alphabetical classification list of goods and services. The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has published a list of goods and services classified in English and French. China's trademark authorities have also compiled and printed a list of goods and services classified in hanyu pinyin order. The use of this table to check the general categories of goods is as convenient as looking up a dictionary.
