Geography of Wuhu

Wuhu City is located in southeastern Anhui Province, located in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the center of the geographic coordinates of 118 degrees and 21 minutes east longitude, latitude 31 degrees and 20 minutes north, relying on the southern Anhui mountain system in the south, and looking north to the Jianghuai Plain. It is adjacent to Hefei City and Maanshan City in the north, bordering Xuancheng City and Chizhou City in the south, connected with Maanshan City and Xuancheng City in the east, and bordering Tongling City in the west. Its completion further improves the function of the second corridor in East China, strengthens the regional economic ties of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and promotes the formation of the economic circle of life in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Elevated, overpasses: the second ring of Shenshankou Interchange, the new city mouth Ji and elevated, Eshan Road, Chengnan Ma drinking interchanges, Huangshan East Road interchanges, three mountainous areas of the Bijieyuan Interchange, the second ring of the city of northern Wanchun Interchange, the railway station station interchanges have been completed and opened to traffic. The first tunnel of the Anhui River: the Dagongshan Road Yangtze River Tunnel (opened in May 2016) The Wuhu rail transit construction lines identified in the program will use cross-seat monorail trains, and the overall layout of the line network will be a grid-radial type, consisting of five urban lines and four city lines. According to urban development and passenger demand, soon to be constructed is the urban line 1 line, line 2 a project, in 2020 before the formation of a total length of 41-50 kilometers of the "ten" skeleton rail line network.

December 18, 2015, the National Development and Reform Commission Director's Office considered and passed the "Wuhu City rail transit construction plan (2016-2020)", marking the city's rail transit construction of new progress in the preliminary work. The next step of the National Development and Reform Commission will be co-signed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and then submitted to the State Council for approval.

February 2, 2016, the State Council today officially approved the "Wuhu City rail transit construction planning (2016-2020)", so Wuhu completed the last step of the approval to become the 40th city of the national rail transit, construction began in September this year.

Wherein, the rail transit line 1 line from the north of the city Longshan Street Baoshun Road and Heping Road intersection area, to the south successively through Hengshan Road, Fengming Lake Road, Harbor Road, Silver Lake Road, North Zhongshan Road, in the area of the intersection of Huangshan Road and West Beijing Road and the No. 2 rail transit line interchange, and then along the Huangshan Road to JiuHua Road, and finally to the Eagle River Railway Station, and the No. 3 rail transit line interchange, and then along the Ning'an Railway And then along the Ning'an Railway to the end of the Baimashan Vehicle Section (tentative name). The total length of the line is about 30km, with 24 elevated stations, of which the underground line is about 0.8km (underneath the section of Shanghehang Wuhu Yangtze River Bridge), the ground and elevated line is about 29.2km, totaling 4 interchange stations. The project is scheduled to start in 2017 and be completed and open to traffic by the end of 2020.

The first phase of the rail transit line 2 project started in the Wuhu Maritime Bureau area, eastward along Beijing Road, in the area of the intersection of Huangshan Road and Beijing Road, and line 1 interchange, and then along Beijing Road to Eagle River Route Road to the north, and access to the Wuhu Railway Station, and then along the Chichuzhuangshan Road to the east, to the Monxie Road folded to the north, and then finally to the east to the terminus of the Yurwen School area. The total length of the line is about 16km,**** with 12 stations (11 elevated stations, 1 underground station), of which the underground line is about 1.5km (Wuhu Railway Station section), the ground and elevated line is about 14.5km, and there are 3 interchange stations. A phase of the project is expected to plan to start construction in September 2016, and in December 2019 was completed and opened to traffic.
