Big data, a rising word in recent years, even established the "College of Big Data and Information Engineering" in April last year. However, what exactly is "big data" seems to be difficult to get an exact explanation. Yesterday, I still had such questions. I visited Guiyang International Big Data Industry Expo 20 15 and Guiyang Summit in the era of global big data.
It should be said that the whole Expo is really high-end for a "hillbilly" like me who visited for the first time. At the beginning, just scan the QR code and fill in the information, and you will have a unique ID card of your own. If you want to enter the venue, you also need volunteers to scan the QR code on your ID card to confirm your identity. What really makes people feel bright and even amazing is the introduction of various products and technologies in different exhibition areas and booths in the exhibition hall.
The whole Expo is divided into four exhibition areas, attracting hundreds of companies and units. All aspects of the warrior, of course, are also around a center-big data. Alibaba Cloud, for example, has demonstrated various "cloud computing". For example, O2O affects all aspects of life, such as food, clothing, housing and transportation: users use terminals such as mobile phones, tablets, notebooks and POS machines to interact with O2O platforms (including flights, hotels, taxi services, restaurants, etc.). ), application platform (mobile payment platform, big data analysis platform, etc. ) and cloud computing services (including security protection, elastic computing, storage in CDN, quantitative analysis, etc. ). Another example is medical health, which is also the interaction between terminals (including thermometers, blood glucose meters, smart watches, ECG collection, PCs, mobile devices, etc.). ), medical platform and application layer (registration/inquiry/consultation application, medical smart wearable device, pharmaceutical manufacturing website, telemedicine platform), tool service (mirror market, cloud tools, service and customized development, big data analysis platform) and cloud computing service. There are also multimedia, games and other aspects, which are similar to the previous data interaction. Simply put, it involves all aspects of life, and the use of terminals also involves data interaction. The role of cloud computing is to provide more convenient and secure services through long-term data collection and processing in these aspects.
There is also an introduction about smart home products. Obviously, more than one company or unit is paying attention to this piece, but everyone's model is similar. They all use wireless WiFi to control all kinds of electrical appliances at home, including TV, air conditioner, electric light and so on. And get rid of the situation that TV and air conditioner need to bring their own remote control. In addition, due to wireless control, people can control the electrical appliances of the whole family more conveniently.
Then there is the electric vehicle developed by ZTE and the corresponding wireless charging solution. Compared with gasoline and even natural gas, electric energy is undoubtedly clean as the driving energy of automobiles. Supporting wireless charging facilities can also be managed remotely through mobile phones, which is undoubtedly much more convenient. Even ZTE has designed a space-saving parking lot, using conveyor belts and lifting devices to intelligently manage parking spaces, and charging equipment is installed under each parking space. But at the same time, because the principle of wireless charging equipment is to convert electric energy into magnetic energy first, and then convert magnetic energy into electric energy to power the car after wireless transmission, there are two energy conversion and wireless transmission in the middle, so the final energy utilization efficiency of this equipment is not high; In addition, the power required for this charging device is quite large (near 10kW or even tens of kW), which is obviously unacceptable for ordinary family cars.
Of course, there are many products on display at the venue, which can't be finished in a few words. As far as the application scope is concerned, there are also security management of data interaction in big data, food safety detection, monitoring, analysis and management of human health, detection of pesticide residues on the surface of agricultural products, real-time analysis of people flow in large public places, e-sports and so on.
So, after reading so much, I went back to the original question: What is "big data"? According to the professional definition given by research institutions, "big data" is a massive, high-growth and diversified information asset, which needs a new processing mode to have stronger decision-making, insight and process optimization capabilities. However, although big data involves all aspects of life, of course, it is also closely related to your own major, but this definition alone will still give people a feeling of incomprehension. After visiting this exhibition, I probably have my own understanding of big data. Big data is one way. With the continuous development of science and technology, people's application of science and technology in various fields of life is gradually increasing, and the intelligent ability in various industries is also a more convenient management method brought about by the increasing demand. In fact, intelligence itself means convenience. The so-called convenience and convenience are human actions, and what makes up for these actions is the interaction of massive data and information. Therefore, it can be explained that this exhibition shows people not only the automation of industrial machinery, but also the basic necessities of life, medical care, entertainment and so on, as well as the safety management and monitoring in the process of data interaction.
