Discovery Channel launches a six-part series of innovative programs featuring Nobel Prize-winning filmmaker Duncan Kaymen, who explores the ways in which science and technology will transform the mega-cities of the future. The program is based on a simulation of the future "Eco-City," a city of 18 million people that will serve as a model for the city of 2050. In each episode, four innovative energy-saving and carbon-reducing technologies will be introduced to address the crisis facing mega-cities, but Dr. Dankermann can only pick one important technology to change the Eco-City's appearance.

1. Hungry City
This episode focuses on food and water, which is a huge source of carbon emissions for the Eco-City. This episode introduces Singapore's urban agriculture using soilless farming, a refrigerator that uses sound to keep food cold, collecting biogas from cow dung to make biofuel, and recycling human waste water for drinking. Each of these four innovations can reduce the carbon footprint of the eco-city, so which one will win Dr. Tankermann's favor?
2. Road To The Future
This episode's theme is transportation, and biofuels are a hot environmental topic right now, so Texas biologists extract fuel from a special type of diatom; General Motors develops an eco-friendly hydrogen fuel cell vehicle; Manila's environmental activist converts diesel engines to electric motors; and finally, a British woman scientist develops a new way to reduce the carbon footprint of the Eco-City. Finally, a British woman scientist has streamlined the design of flying wings to reduce the noise of airplanes in flight. Which of these four innovations will win the election?
3. World Of Trash
This episode focuses on trash disposal, the massive amount of garbage that humans produce every year, the mountains of waste that cause so much headaches for city planners, and the amount of trash that scientists predict will be twice as much on Earth in 2050 as it is today. In the face of this huge garbage problem and the destruction of the earth's resources, how can Eco-City cope with the 100,000 tons of garbage produced by human beings every day?
4. Building The Future
The theme of this episode is buildings. The heating, cooling and lighting systems in buildings emit 100 million tons of carbon into the atmosphere every year, which is the main cause of global warming; in addition, buildings are big monsters of pollution, consuming 2/3 of the world's energy. Low-carbon future. In this episode, find out how to revolutionize buildings to prevent them from becoming bottomless pits of energy waste.
5. Powering The Future
This episode is about the future of power. Cities are so dependent on electricity that they can't function without a stable, safe and environmentally friendly source of power; experts predict that by 2050, cities in the future will use five to ten times as much electricity as they do today, and will emit five times more carbon dioxide than they do today. Five times more than today. So, in this episode, we explore how to provide power to the people who live on this planet without harming the environment.
6. Innovation Metropolis City Of The Future
Nobel Prize-winning energy scientist Dr. Dankermen will explore these 20 cutting-edge new technologies from the first five episodes of Eco-City and start a PK competition. Dr. Dankermann hopes that by 2050, the Eco-City metropolis will have adopted all of the winning technologies, and that the new technologies that have been developed will transform our cities, providing energy for buildings, transportation, food, and industry, and ushering in a bright future for the metropolis of Eco-City.
