Four major areas of the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation

1. Health and hygiene: The level of health care and health of poor people is generally low. Medical services in poor areas are insufficient, and the level of medical protection is low. In remote mountainous areas, many children grow up in a living environment with a single dietary structure and insufficient nutrition, which not only jeopardizes their normal growth and development, but also makes it difficult for them to improve their academic performance. The issue of health protection for the poor is one of the focuses of concern for all sectors of society and even the world.

The China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA) launched the "120 Action Program for the Safety of Mothers and Babies" and the "Love Plus Meal" programs in 2000 and 2008, which are aimed at increasing the rate of hospital births for pregnant women and reducing the rate of hospital deliveries for pregnant women and children, as well as reducing the number of children who are underweight and undernourished. Through measures such as providing assistance to poor mothers and children and paying attention to children's health and nutrition, the program has been able to increase the rate of hospital births for pregnant women and reduce the maternal mortality rate; improve the level of life protection and health of poor mothers and children; improve the nutritional status and growth and development of children in poor mountainous areas, reduce the rates of malnutrition and anemia among children; and raise the level of health of the population in poor areas.

2. Education and growth: the old, young and remote areas in China have slow economic development due to the harsh natural environment and remote location, etc. Many rural elementary school dormitories are in disrepair, which not only have hidden dangers but also cannot meet the needs of students' accommodation, and in recent years, the plan of withdrawing and merging the schools has aggravated the difficulty of students' accommodation in the poor areas; the students in the poor areas lack of school supplies; and the students in the high schools and college students facing difficulties in daily living expenses are also facing difficulties. college students face difficulties in meeting their daily living expenses.

To this end, CFPA has launched programs such as the Nesting Action, Love Parcel, and the New Great Wall for Schools, which are dedicated to promoting the comprehensive development of rural students in impoverished areas and improving their living conditions. Through building dormitories and libraries for primary schools in poverty-stricken areas, distributing love parcels, organizing training for teachers of music, physical education and art, supporting volunteers to teach, and sponsoring high school students and college students with special needs, CFPA has been able to solve the problem of students' accommodation difficulties in poverty-stricken areas, improve the status quo of music, physical education and art teaching in rural elementary school in poverty-stricken areas as well as the learning conditions, and help high school students with special needs and college students with special needs to complete their education, so as to send love and care to students in poverty.

3. Community and Livelihood: The poor and disadvantaged people in the old, young and poor areas are at a disadvantage in market competition and slow to improve their quality of life due to the lack of financial support, or the small scale of production, or the inconvenient transportation. In order to give poor areas and poor people more opportunities to develop and benefit from market economic activities, CFPA strives to improve the basic production and living conditions in poor areas and help poor farmers change their business models.

4. Disaster relief: China is a country prone to natural disasters, and poverty caused by disasters is one of the causes of poverty. In 2003, CFPA began to implement emergency relief programs to alleviate the suffering and anxiety of compatriots in poor disaster areas, improve the timeliness and relevance of disaster response; advocate and promote cooperation between the government and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and among NGOs in the field of disaster relief, set up a humanitarian relief network, carry out training on disaster mitigation and prevention, and strengthen the capacity building of the relevant parties and the construction of the network. 2014, my emergency relief program started the whole field of disaster management, which is the first time for CFPA to implement a disaster relief program in China. In 2014, my Emergency Relief Program launched the whole field of disaster management, including disaster mitigation and prevention, disaster preparedness, disaster relief and post-disaster reconstruction.
