Qilu University of Technology's history can be traced back to the Jiaodong Industrial School, which was established by the Jiaodong Military Region of the People's Liberation Army in 1948, and was the Shandong Institute of Light Industry from 1978 to 2013, which was renamed Qilu University of Technology in 2013; Shandong Academy of Science, formerly known as Shandong Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which was established in 1958 and renamed Shandong Academy of Science in 1979. It is an institution directly under the People's Government of Shandong Province.
School faculty
As of December 2020, the school (Academy of Sciences) has 2,150 full-time faculty members, of which 1,114 are associate senior professional and technical personnel, and 1,340 have doctoral degrees. There are five "dual-appointed" academicians, five foreign academicians, three people in the National Ten Thousand People Program and seven people in the National Ten Million Talents Project.
