BYD Donates 16 Million Masks to Africa to Help Fight Epidemic Together

According to recent statistics from the WHO, as of November 29, the cumulative number of new cases of coronary pneumonia diagnosed worldwide has exceeded 62.51 million, with a cumulative total of 1.45 million deaths, of which 118 countries have more than 10,000 confirmed cases. Although the current domestic epidemic has eased slightly, the global epidemic situation is still quite serious.

Recently, in response to the "African Mask Week" program, BYD announced that it would donate 16 million masks to help African communities fight the second wave of the epidemic. The donated masks will be used in health clinics in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Mozambique and Zambia.

More than 2 million people in Africa have been diagnosed with the new coronavirus, and the second wave of the new coronavirus is on its way. But the latest figures show that the number of people wearing masks in Africa is declining. Many frontline healthcare workers are in urgent need of masks and other protective materials for self-protection as they provide basic healthcare services to local communities. "Africa Mask Week (November 23-30, 2020) is organized by the African Center for Disease Control (Africa?CDC), the African Union?Office?of?the?Youth?Envoy, the African New Coronavirus African?Youth?Front?on?Coronavirus, and the Pandemic?Action?Network and a coalition of partners*** were launched to sustain and increase mask wearing among the African population.

It is reported that this is not the first time that BYD has donated epidemic protection materials to Africa. Since March this year, it has donated mask materials to the embassies and consulates of Kenya, South Africa, Ethiopia, and other African countries, and has increased the supply of masks to the African region to alleviate the shortage of local medical supplies.

On May 20, BYD received a letter of thanks from the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) from Kenya. The letter said, "The UN Environment Program has received a donation of 20,000 medical surgical masks from BYD, which will support the UN Medical Clinic at the UN Global Headquarters in Nairobi, as well as UN staff working on the frontline of the New Crown Epidemic pandemic in Kenya to combat the local New Crown Epidemic."

Earlier this year, the new crown pneumonia epidemic broke out, in the most difficult task of domestic epidemic prevention, masks in the most urgent need, BYD took the initiative to stand up, using all the power to aid the production of masks, disinfectant gel, and other epidemic prevention materials. Relying on the company's innovative R & D capabilities and strong manufacturing strength, BYD created a 3 days out of the drawings, 7 days out of the equipment, 10 days out of the product of the "miracle", in just 24 days to become the world's largest mask manufacturer.

After the self-produced masks came off the production line, BYD continued to help the global anti-epidemic, in addition to fully guarantee the supply of domestic epidemic prevention materials. Previously, BYD masks followed the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs "health package" to the world's 37 countries and regions, 28 embassies, 13 consulates general, to provide the local shortage of medical protection. At present, BYD's epidemic prevention materials have been delivered to more than 70 countries and regions around the world, and have won wide praise from home and abroad.

In this global war "epidemic", BYD has been doing its best to fight the epidemic together with people from all over the world to **** off the difficulties!
