Residents' health cards have many functions, such as identification, storage of health and diagnosis information, cross-regional and cross-medical institutions "one card", new rural cooperative medical system settlement, innovative application of financial functions and so on, and can be used nationwide. The resident health card is not only the medical card, bank financial card and reimbursement card of the new rural cooperative medical system in all medical and health institutions, but also a comprehensive health card for blood donation and children's immunization. For urban residents, they need to bring two cards: a health card and a medical insurance card. Rural residents, because the health card contains the reimbursement function of the new rural cooperative medical system, only need to carry the health card. After the experience gained from the pilot project in Shenyang, the resident health card will be promoted throughout the province.
