If a diabetic wants to eat sugar, his sugar intake must be controlled within the total calorie range. So, in fact, people with diabetes can't eat anything. According to the current medical level, sweeteners can be used instead of sugar. Commonly used sweeteners are generally divided into the following three types.
First, plant sweeteners. This flavoring agent is extracted from plants. Such as Stevia rebaudiana and Siraitia grosvenorii. Stevioside is the main component in the dry leaves of Stevia rebaudiana, which not only has high sweetness and low calorie, but also has certain pharmacological effects. Siraitia grosvenorii is a traditional Chinese medicine and an excellent natural sugar substitute for diabetics.
Second, chemically synthesize sweeteners. Such as saccharin and aspartame.
Thirdly, sweeteners extracted from sugar raw materials. This is xylitol. At present, it is a sweetener widely used by diabetic patients.
Diabetic patients are not allowed to eat sugar for their own reasons. The foods that diabetics should not eat are white sugar, brown sugar, rock sugar, maltose, fruit candy, chocolate candy, honey, candied fruit, sugary drinks, sugary cakes and so on. However, the use of sweeteners meets the needs of diabetic patients for sugar.
The use of sweeteners brings good news to diabetics, so that they can experience sweetness occasionally. Diabetic patients should choose sweeteners with high safety, no toxic side effects and good taste, and try to choose "sugar" with low energy, no heat production and no or little participation in human metabolism.
