The news of going to an internship in a primary school is a sudden unknown world for us who have been preparing to go to an internship in a middle school. However, the previous communication work was not done in time and we didn't understand the situation of primary education, which made us feel very confused. What subjects do we teach in primary school? What can we do? What are the psychological characteristics of primary school students? Will our primary school internship have an impact on future employment? All these questions hung in my mind until the day we came to the internship school. The internship school held a meeting for us, made some introductions, and arranged for all internship members to meet with the instructor and class teacher of the internship class respectively. I realized that my internship had really started, so I readjusted my mind and began to devote myself to my role.
For some reasons, I took over the teaching of Thought and Life and Mental Health Education (Guangzhou Experimental Edition) as soon as I arrived at school, and I didn't have the opportunity to observe the teaching of the original teacher, but I was not discouraged. Under my various "entreaties", the former head teacher finally let me observe the teaching of other teachers in the class, including physical education class. Only in this way can we understand the teaching mode of primary schools and learn more. I never gave up observation and study until the end of my internship. During this period, I took time to watch the lectures of other interns and their tutors in Shi Qi No.4 Middle School and No.3 Middle School. Occasionally, the internship school invites excellent teachers from Wendelu Primary School in Guangzhou to attend an open Chinese class. I also had the cheek to listen to this special open class and participated in the seminar on "Cultivating Discipline Self-confidence" held by their two schools.
Second, observe and do everything with your heart.
In the work of the internship class teacher, I realized that the class management of primary school students is very different from that of middle school students. Miss Mai often tells me some problems and experiences in her work as a class teacher. She told me that the most important thing for a class teacher is not the ability, but the heart. She also assured me of contact, slowly took over the work of the class teacher, and helped me with individual psychological counseling. The practice school also held a "exchange meeting on the work experience of the head teacher" specially for us, which made us deeply understand the tedious and meticulous work of the head teacher and the patience and love needed. According to the grade characteristics and the psychological characteristics of primary school students, I did not carry out the theme class meeting activities in my class, but carried out the outdoor group psychological counseling activities with the theme of "unity and self-confidence growth". The activity was carried out smoothly and was affirmed by the teachers. Students feel happy and the importance of unity and self-confidence, which is the purpose of this activity.
My former teacher told me clearly that you are professional teachers of these courses, and I hope you can give a special lesson to the students in our class. For me, the teaching work in primary schools is also very strange and at a loss. In order not to disappoint the teachers and my students, I carefully read the teaching materials and supplementary materials, actively consulted the former teachers and classmates of the internship group, discussed with the classmates, and so on, and finally really moved to the classroom. I know that I have succeeded from the teachers' smiles and classmates' happiness, but there are still some undeniable shortcomings. Under the careful guidance of the teacher, my teaching level has been improved step by step.
Third, apply what you have learned and be proactive.
1. Prepare self-confidence questionnaire and post-test statistics.
The practice school applied for a national project-"Cultivation of self-confidence in subject teaching". I need to compile a questionnaire to investigate the self-confidence of primary school students, which is my major. After consulting some research literature on self-confidence cultivation and discussing with team members, I compiled a questionnaire containing 45 questions, and the practice school selected two experimental classes (class 303 and class 502) for testing. Results SPSS software was used for statistics, and finally a brief table was written.
2. Suggestions on building a "happy house" in Dongyi Primary School.
When I heard that the practice school was building a "Happy House", I was glad to suggest that it could be used as a base for children's sensory integration training based on my practice experience in a health hospital. But the school thought that the "Happy House" could not be completed during our internship, so I didn't accept this suggestion, but I didn't give up. Finally, I wrote a proposal to the internship school so that the school can accept this proposal in the future.
3. Assist in designing and making a publicity column-"Holding up the confident sun".
First contact with the bulletin board. Originally, I didn't have to intervene in this job at all, but I think since it is an internship, it is a learning process. If I don't study now, I won't study in the future, but I didn't have a chance to study then, so I took the initiative to ask the responsible team members for help. When I saw such a beautiful publicity column hanging high on the wall, I was extremely happy and proud!
5. "Pay attention to children's growth"-the first on-site psychological consultation in Dongyi Primary School.
On-the-spot psychological counseling is the characteristic work of our major and our most skilled work, but the previous counseling was aimed at students (including middle school students and college students), and the psychological characteristics of primary school students are not suitable for such activities. What special activities should we do for the school? Only when there is a problem can we find a solution to it. I always thought so. Soon we thought of this activity-on-site psychological counseling for parents. In the process of taking charge of this on-site psychological counseling activity, I felt its great significance. I carefully checked and confirmed every link and detail. With the joint efforts and cooperation of our team members, it finally went smoothly, which was affirmed not only by school leaders and teachers, but also by local parents.
6. Data collection and editing of Dongyi pupils' psychological reports.
In the last week of our internship, I suddenly had an idea, that is, to leave a souvenir for the school-psychological newspaper for primary school students. It is also my first time to create a newspaper. According to the psychological characteristics of primary school students, I spent two whole days collecting information, and then groped to complete the typesetting work. Finally, with everyone's efforts, we finally finished the first color newspaper (4th edition) with a unique name: "Heart". When we gave the headmaster personal guidance, the headmaster gave us a high evaluation!
A person's ability can be affirmed by others' observation, and a person's work attitude can be determined by whether he works hard or not. If you want more, you must take the initiative. This is what the headmaster said to me when I left. The internship time was not long, but it left an indelible impression and feeling on me. In it, I realized the importance of initiative and the importance of learning with an open mind and observing carefully. Constantly trying and learning is my eternal goal!
