I. Definition of mental health
Mental health means that all aspects and activities of psychology are in a good or normal state. The ideal state of mental health is to maintain a state of complete personality, normal intelligence, correct cognition, appropriate mood, reasonable will, positive attitude, appropriate behavior and good adaptation.
Mental health is influenced by both heredity and environment, especially the upbringing of family of origin in childhood has a great influence on the development of mental health. Mental health is characterized by being able to maintain good communication or cooperation with others in social life and production life, and being able to handle various situations in life well.
Second, abnormal psychology
The essence of psychological abnormality is the cause, mechanism and psychological structure of abnormal psychology. Psychological abnormality is the disorder of brain structure or function or the disorder and distortion of people's response to objective reality. It not only reflects the abnormality of individual self-concept and some abilities, but also reflects the adaptation obstacles in social interpersonal relations and personal life.
But it is not easy to clearly distinguish normal psychology from abnormal psychology.
Judge the level of mental health;
1. Adaptability
Adapting to the environment is the most basic condition for human survival, and "survival of the fittest" is the universal law of biological evolution. In a person's life, the internal and external environment is constantly changing, and sometimes it changes greatly, so people are required to make corresponding adaptive responses to various changes. Whether to adapt to the changing environment is an important symbol of mental health.
Step 2 tolerate
Tolerance and resistance to mental stimulation or stress are collectively called tolerance. Different individuals have different tolerance to mental stimulation and different reactions.
For example, relatives died unfortunately, and some were heartbroken and cried; Some immediately fainted, unconscious; Some people can remain strong despite strong emotional blows; Others may lead to reactive psychosis or hysteria.
Step 3 control
Refers to the ability of self-control and adjustment. People can consciously control and regulate their emotions, emotions, thinking, attention and other psychological activities and their behaviors.
When a person is physically and mentally healthy, his psychological activities are stable and normal, his thinking is fluent, his emotional expression is appropriate, his behavior is generous and decent, and his response is good. If a person always can't control his emotions and behaviors, it means that there is something wrong with his body and mind. Therefore, the level of control is an important standard to measure a person's mental health level.
4. Social skills
Social communication is the foundation of human society, and the emergence and maintenance of human psychological activities depend on the development of social communication. If individuals are isolated from the world and deprived of social interaction, they will often have psychological barriers and even mental breakdown. Therefore, social communication ability marks a person's mental health level.
