Cow trembling is generally an abnormal reaction, which is mostly caused by rumen accumulation. Cattle rumen food accumulation
Cow trembling is generally an abnormal reaction, which is mostly caused by rumen accumulation. Cattle rumen food accumulation mostly occurs in winter and spring. Because of the lack of green feed at this time, some farmers will choose to feed dry feed such as chaff, wheat straw and wheat bran, but this kind of feed is easy to swell and difficult to digest, and it is easy to cause adverse reactions after feeding. Calves with rumen food accumulation will show decreased appetite, stopped rumination, increased abdominal circumference and slow waist. When the illness is serious, their breathing and heartbeat will accelerate, their limbs will continue to tremble, and finally they will fall to the ground and die of acidosis.
First, is calf chattering normal?
1. Is cow chattering normal?
(1) Leg trembling is usually abnormal. Generally speaking, the restlessness and limb trembling of calves may be caused by food accumulation in rumen.
(2) Due to the lack of green feed in winter and spring, some farmers will choose to feed calves with a lot of dry feed, such as chaff, wheat straw and wheat bran. , easy to swell, not easy to digest, will lead to rumen food accumulation after feeding.
(3) When calves are too hungry, they eat a lot of concentrate, which is easy to cause rumen food accumulation.
2. Main symptoms of rumen food accumulation

(2) There are molars in the lower leg, slow movement, hunchback, unstable standing, and sometimes lying down.
(3) When the illness is serious, his breathing and heartbeat are accelerated, accompanied by symptoms such as limb trembling, bad breath dehydration, and finally he dies on the ground due to acidosis.
Second, the prevention and treatment of calf trembling
1, feed more silage and high-quality dry feed, and don't overfeed concentrate when calves are hungry.
2. Add 500 grams of magnesium sulfate into 1500 grams of warm water, mix and dissolve, and then take it once.
3. Inject 1000 ml 10% sodium chloride +30 ml 10% caffeine sodium solution into the calf at one time.
4. Adding 500-800g of magnesium sulfate (or sodium sulfate) to 1000 ml of water and then feeding calves, or directly feeding 1000- 1500 ml of liquid paraffin oil, can accelerate the excretion of rumen contents.
5. Prepare betel nut 30g, rhubarb 75g, dried tangerine peel 75g, hawthorn 75g and malt 100g, then decoct in water to get juice, and take it once after warming.
6. If the calf's condition is serious and drug treatment is ineffective, rumen incision can be performed to remove rumen contents.
