The wonderful use of cigarettes in automobile maintenance.

As we all know, smoking is harmful to health, but few people know that cigarettes have some wonderful uses in car maintenance. Cigarettes can be used not only for fault diagnosis, but also for temporary emergency when conditions are limited or tasks are particularly urgent.

Check the tightness of the valve.

Smoke blowing can be used to check the tightness of valves and valve seats. Clean the grounding valve, put the valve guide in sequence, and hold the valve by hand or with a suitable tool (such as a screwdriver); Then take a puff of smoke and blow it to the clean intake manifold and exhaust manifold, and stick the mouth on the manifold to avoid air leakage. At the same time, observe whether there is smoke between the valve and the valve seat. If no smoke comes out, it means that the valve is well sealed, otherwise it should be re-ground.

Check whether the oil and gas paths are clear.

Smoke blowing can be used to check whether the oil circuit of carburetor is unblocked. Carburetors have many oil and vacuum lines, especially imported carburetors, which usually need to be blown through with compressed gas after cleaning. However, it is difficult for operators to judge which oil ducts are and which air ducts are really blown, and there are many cases of maintenance. If the smoke blowing rule is used, it is very easy to find out whether the oil passages or air passages are unblocked.

For example, if the carburetor truck is not idling, disassemble the carburetor, clean it, dry it with gas, and then blow smoke with a hose (such as a vacuum distributor advance pipe); Idle oil passage and air passage are considered smooth from the idle oil measuring hole to the idle air hole, and finally smoke leaks from the idle mixture adjusting screw of the carburetor; Otherwise, it should be re-checked until it smokes.

Similarly, the ventilation holes on the transmission, rear axle housing, steering gear housing and engine crankcase gas check valve (PCV) can also be checked by blowing smoke, and then repaired or replaced according to the situation. If these parts are blocked, the internal pressure will increase, which will easily lead to oil leakage of all related parts and lead to failure.

Soot can be used as abrasive.

When repairing automobile carburetor, especially imported automobile carburetor, the triangular needle valve is often worn and difficult to buy. At this time, soot can be mixed with engine oil as abrasive to grind the triangular needle and the triangular needle seat, which will achieve satisfactory results.

Cut tobacco can stop clogging.

If the water tank leaks while driving, tobacco can be used for temporary emergency. First use pliers to flatten the radiator with large water leakage in the water tank, then unscrew the filler cap of the water tank and remove the thermostat (to prevent blockage); Then the shredded tobacco is crushed and put into the water tank from the water inlet. Finally, the engine is started to run at low, medium and high speeds respectively, so that the cut tobacco put in will be absorbed at the water leakage of the core pipe of the water tank. When the water tank is blocked, cover the fuel filler cap and start the car. However, it should be noted that this can only be used as an emergency. After returning to the site, clean the water tank with high-pressure water and weld it thoroughly.

In addition, tobacco can also be used to temporarily cope with local small-area bleeding. It is not unusual to engage in auto repair, cut some meat and shed some blood. After bleeding, if you cover the wound with clean cigarette silk, you can temporarily stop bleeding and relieve pain.

The filter can be used as a lubricating felt.

Cigarette filter can temporarily replace the lubricating felt on the distributor cam. First, peel off the paper of the filter tip on the cigarette head, put a proper amount of filter wire into the original felt metal clip (be careful not to be too tight or too loose), and cut the exposed excess part neatly with scissors; Then drop a few drops of engine oil on the substitute felt (that is, silk cotton).
