The frequency of daily defecation of puppies is related to their intake. For example, recently, they suddenly changed their food, and the younger ones especially like to eat, or increased the amount of canned food and snacks, which led to more eating, thus increasing the frequency of defecation and urination. However, if the owner feeds the dog a lot of bones or meat, it may lead to constipation, because the bones will absorb the water in the intestine, thus causing the situation of not defecating for 1-2 days. This is actually a functional obstruction and needs to be considered for enema treatment. Under normal circumstances, the number of times a dog defecates is 1-2 times a day.
As there is a feeding amount description on the back of each dog food package, it is suggested that the owner feed the dog 3-4 times in infancy and 2-3 times in adulthood as required.
