What does ffmi mean?

FFMI is the abbreviation of Fat-Free Mass Index, which is an index to measure the degree of muscle development. The calculation method is: FFMI= lean body weight (kg)×( 1- body fat percentage )× 2.20462 ÷ (height× height ÷ 10000). Among them, "lean body mass" refers to the body mass except adipose tissue, bone tissue and water.

FFMI is similar to body mass index, which is calculated by height and weight. However, unlike body mass index, FFMI is mainly used to judge a person's muscular development. Generally speaking, men's FFMI is around 22 and women's FFMI is around 20. If a person's FFMI value exceeds this range, it may mean that his/her muscle development is already high, and even he/she is suspected of using stimulants.

FFMI is widely used in fitness, sports and other fields. However, it should be noted that FFMI is only an indicator and cannot be used alone to judge a person's health. It is also necessary to comprehensively evaluate the body mass index, body fat rate and other indicators.
