I like reading, so does my daughter, but what kind of books to choose for my children is beneficial to their development and physical and mental health has always been my confusion. With the development of modern material civilization, the temptation of TV and Internet to children, and children's books driven by economic interests, although children like reading, I think many books are not very good or even harmful to their physical and mental development; Children don't like books that are instructive to children. It is very meaningful for schools to carry out parent-child reading activities, so that parents can pay more attention to their children's extracurricular reading and mobilize the enthusiasm of children and parents to read good books.
In order to enrich the children's summer vacation, I went to the bookstore with my children to choose books. The choice of books was up to the children, which greatly mobilized their enthusiasm and bought books that children liked, and they couldn't put it down. I made an agreement with my children to finish my homework and read for 30 minutes every day. Children can read more if they are interested. In the process of children's reading, I found that children just watch the excitement and read the short stories inside, which obviously didn't play much role in the cultivation and education of Chinese knowledge and ability. So I began to take time to read with my children, but because of my busy work, it was difficult to read all the books with my children. So I compete with my children. Whoever has time to read, who reads fast, and who finishes reading a part, will tell each other what they have read. In the process of reading, my children and I discuss and communicate with each other, which improves children's language expression ability. When I have time, I will read a passage to my children, so that they can listen to it with relish, and then discuss the stories, characters and language in the book, so that children can develop the habit of reading, discussing and thinking. In the past, children were too lazy to take notes when studying. Because my children and I study together, we draw good words and sentences we see when reading, and pay attention to guiding children to record good words and sentences, so that children can gradually develop the habit of reading attentively, not just reading stories. After a period of persistence, children can basically find good words and sentences in reading, and read more attentively, which is conducive to improving their writing level.
Reading with children is not only to share happiness, but also to share confusion. I will talk about what children don't understand, or check the information with them. Parents and children have increased their knowledge and exercised their thinking ability in reading. Nowadays, our parent-child reading is gradually changing from passive reading to active reading. Parent-child reading is becoming a good habit in our family.
