Pukou District, located in the northwest of Nanjing, is one of the eight districts in the main city of Nanjing, an important medical base, science and education base and advanced manufacturing base in China. It is the west bridgehead of the Yangtze River Delta radiating to the inland hinterland. It is a modern riverside area with integrated circuit industry, high-end transportation equipment industry and cultural tourism health industry as the leading industrial system, and together with Liuhe District, it constitutes Nanjing Jiangbei New District.
Location context
Pukou District is located in the northwest of Nanjing, with an area of 965,438, between the north latitude111846' and 30 51'-3215'. It faces Gulou District, jianye district, Yuhuatai District and Jiangning District across the river, and is adjacent to Lai 'an County, Chuzhou City, Quanjiao County and Hexian County in the north and west respectively.
Pukou District is the west bridgehead radiating from the Yangtze River Delta to the inland hinterland, the central area of Jiangbei in the process of Nanjing's development along the Yangtze River and cross-strait linkage, and the frontier position of Nanjing's cross-river linkage development, Chuzhou's eastward development and Nanjing metropolitan cooperation.
