My Brazilian tortoise has been kept for more than a year, but it is not long and its size remains the same. What happened?

For more than a year, the body shape of the Brazilian tortoise has remained unchanged, and there may be many reasons. Here are some possible reasons:

1. Diet problem: The Brazilian tortoise needs a balanced diet, including vegetables, fruits and protein sources. If the variety and quantity of food are insufficient, it may affect its growth. Be sure to provide appropriate food types and quantities, and consult a veterinarian or professional breeder.

2. Temperature problem: Brazilian tortoise needs suitable water temperature and environmental temperature to promote its growth. Too high or too low water temperature or inappropriate ambient temperature may slow down the growth rate. Ensure that the water temperature is between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius and the ambient temperature is between 28 and 32 degrees Celsius.

3. Feeding environment: provide enough swimming space and dry terrace, as well as proper shade and hiding place. Ensure clean water quality and change water regularly. If the breeding environment is not ideal, it may also affect the growth of Brazilian tortoise.

4. Health problems: The Brazilian tortoise may have health problems, such as parasitic infection or malnutrition. Observe the tortoise's behavior and appetite, and seek medical advice in time if it is abnormal.

5. Tortoise age: The growth rate of Brazilian tortoise slows down with the increase of age, growing faster in childhood and slower in adulthood. If your Brazilian tortoise is an adult, its growth rate may slow down.

If you take the above measures, but the Brazilian tortoise still has no obvious growth, it is recommended to consult a veterinarian or professional breeder.
