Is there any chance for South China University to regain its previous position? If Hunan University is merged, can Central South University be on a par?

At present, Hunan University is one of the only three original 985 and current double-class B universities in China, and it is likely to become a double-class A university in the next round of double-class evaluation! The pain point of Hunan University is that there is no medical school. I've always wanted to have my own medical school in recent years.

University of South China's strong major is medicine, but its geographical location is remote. If the project can merge South China University and Hunan University, it will not only solve the geographical disadvantage of South China University, but also solve the pain that Hunan University has no medical school.

University of South China (USC), founded in 1958, is located in Hengyang City, Hunan Province. It is a comprehensive university jointly established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the National Health and Wellness Commission, the State Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, China National Nuclear Corporation and the Hunan Provincial People's Government. In May 2000, Central South Institute of Technology and Hengyang Medical College were merged.

This school is a key university supported by the basic capacity-building project of universities in the central and western regions of China, and has been selected into the training plan for excellent engineers, the training plan for excellent doctors, the national environmental protection training base and the first batch of "new engineering" research and practice projects of the Ministry of Education. From June 5438 to October 2002 10, the Sixth Research Institute of Nuclear Industry, which was originally affiliated to the Ministry of Nuclear Industry, was merged into the University of South China.
