But the current situation is that "most children are very lacking in sexual knowledge and their self-protection ability is quite weak". Xu Yanfeng was very sad to see the case of minors being sexually assaulted. On the other hand, "there are more and more AIDS cases in colleges and universities, which will soon become an important group, and the phenomenon of students' physical problems is becoming increasingly prominent", and she is deeply worried about this. She believes that in order to better protect children's healthy and happy growth and form a correct outlook on life and marriage, more attention should be paid to children's sex education.
In her view, sex education in primary school is very important, which is related to "the health and happiness of a lifetime". In addition to preventive sex education, we should also provide children with comprehensive sexual knowledge, cultivate students' positive and beautiful sexual attitudes and values, and enhance students' skills in making correct decisions about sex.
Can children's sex education be included in the curriculum system of compulsory education?

In terms of teaching methods, she thinks that children should be involved on the basis of respecting them, such as discussion, debate, games, etc., and appropriate teaching content can be arranged according to different ages.
Teachers who teach must receive formal training, and experts from health and family planning departments can also be invited to give lectures. In the teaching process, it is more important to spread correct sexual attitudes and concepts.
In addition, she suggested that the education administrative department should do something to urge the school to complete the necessary class hours and ensure the quality of teaching, which should be included in the school assessment.
For a long time, due to the influence of traditional culture, there is no scientific understanding of the topic of sex education. School teachers are shy in the teaching process, but parents can't generously tell their children some basic knowledge when asked about sex.
