Introduction to Brahma

Explain Brahma in detail

be born

According to Indian mythology, he broke out of the golden egg, and the eggshell was divided into two halves to become heaven and earth. On the other hand, Brahma was born by himself and had no mother. At the beginning of the universe, the lotus on Vishnu's navel produced Brahma. This also shows that Brahma's name is also Nabhija (meaning "born from the navel"). He also gave birth to ten sons (some say seven or twenty-one) from his heart, hands and feet, and even his wife, the goddess of literature and art, was born from her thumb. Because he was born in water, he is also called Kanja (meaning "born in water"). Brahma is the son of Brahma, the supreme being, Prakrti or Moya, so Brahma is called "Lord". His descendants also gave birth to gods, mortals, demons, beasts and everything in the universe.

Respond to every request

Brahma is an extremely kind and responsive god. There are many stories about him being responsive in Thailand. Here, I mainly introduce Indian myths and legends about his responsiveness. In Indian myths and legends, as long as you make a wish to him, whether it is "god, magic or man", he will grant their wishes.

The sacred side

For example, in the aspect of god, Shiva, who is regarded as the master of the universe by the Hindu Shiva Sect, once asked Brahma to help find the whereabouts of Ginasa's head. Brahma told Shiva that the first creature he met on the way to find would replace Ginasa's head. Shiva sent his immortal to look around and finally found a dying elephant with its head facing north, so he took off the elephant's head and put it on the boy after it died.

Magic aspect

About the devil, Hiranyakasipu prayed and made a wish to Brahma. After Brahma granted his wish, the whole world was ruled by the devil again. Finally, Vishnu became the lion Narosinha, defeated the devil and saved the world.

Brahma means purity and abstinence. Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are the three main gods of Hinduism. According to the Code of Manu and the ancient Indian epic Mahabharata, the universe comes from Brahma eggs wandering in chaos. Brahma was originally the golden embryo in Brahma's egg. Wandering for a year, the egg shell was split in two by the power of the mind. For heaven and earth, there is a space of qi between heaven and earth, followed by five elements: water, fire, earth, qi and ether, and then there are gods, stars, time, mountains, plains and rivers, and there are people, language, lust, anger, joy and repentance. All order is controlled by Brahma. After Brahma was absorbed by Buddhism as the protector, he was sometimes Sakyamuni's right-hand man, holding white dust. He was also the Zen master in the early days of * * *, and was called "the Great Brahma King". There are two-armed images and four-armed images of the Great Brahma King. The former is a pair of arms, holding lotus flowers to dust. And three arms. The four-armed statue has three eyes on each side, holding lotus flowers, bath bottles and dusting (or purlin), and making fearless seals with one hand. After Brahma was sinicized, most of them were middle-aged emperors, holding lotus flowers. In land and water paintings, the Brahma King is a typical elegant Chinese local emperor, surrounded by auxiliary ministers.

Brahma^. Transliteration of Yarlung Zangbo River, Yarlung Zangbo River and Yarlung Zangbo River. Free translation is pure and beyond desire. Brahman, the deified root of Indian thought, is the creator of Brahmanism and Hinduism. Together with Shiva and Vishnu, they are called Brahmanism and Hinduism. According to the code of Manu, Brahma comes from a golden embryo (Brahma egg) and has five primitive heads, one of which was destroyed by Shiva, and the other four have four hands, holding Vedic classics, lotus flowers, spoons, rosaries or bowls respectively. Buddhism listed it as the first day of meditation. Generally, it can be divided into three types, namely Brahma -parisadya, Brahma -purohita and Maha -brahman, which are collectively called Brahma. Among them, the Great Brahma King ruled the Brahma people and was Brahma's assistant minister.

Definition in Buddhism

Brahma, commonly known as Brahma, refers to the Brahma King, also known as Brahma King, called the corpse (Brahma Shixin) or the Lord (Brahma Praja^pati). In ancient Indian legends, everything was created from the world of light and sound in order to snatch the early days, and Buddhism regarded it as the protector of Buddhism together with Indra. The Buddha once ascended to heaven as his mother, and when he died, Brahma was the Buddha's right-hand man, holding a line drawing; Or Brahma and King Moro. The length of the Great Brahma King was extended by one and a half years, and his life span was robbed by one and a half years. The palace where he lives is called the Vatican Palace. The tantric religion listed it as one of the twelve days, guarding the top. The tantric Brahma statue has four arms on all sides, lotus beads in the right hand, an army in the left hand, doing ten thousand characters, riding a seven-goose cart and wearing a bun crown. It also supports Brahma's practice, which is called Brahma's support. [Great Wisdom Volume 10 Great Bodhisattva Volume 98 Great Sun Sutra Volume 5 Middle Theory Volume 1 Datang Xiyu Volume 4]

Definition in Hinduism

Brahma, the Hindu god of creation, is the embodiment of ultimate reality, the abstract concept of Upanishads philosophy, or the universal spirit "Brahma". Brahma's predecessor was the creator of Vedic mythology. It is said that Brahma was hatched from a golden egg floating in the chaotic Wang Yang, or was born from a lotus flower growing from Vishnu's navel, and then began to create everything in the world. In Hindu statues, Brahma is usually dressed as a Brahman priest, with arms all around, holding Vedas, sitting on a lotus or riding a swan. Brahma lived in Lushan Mountain, and the Sarasvati he created was his princess. Vishnu in Hinduism thinks Vishnu is the master of the universe, while Shiva in Hinduism thinks Shiva is the master of the universe, but both Vishnu and Shiva think Brahma is inferior to Shiva and Vishnu.

Brahma created the Sanskrit alphabet.

Tiancheng alphabet is called Sanskrit alphabet by people all over the world because of its long history of spelling Sanskrit and its continuous expansion in India today. Tiancheng script is the standard script for writing Sanskrit, which is recognized by Indian Buddhism and internationally. Tiancheng style, Sanskrit is Devanāgarī, and literal translation is the city in heaven. Why is it called the city of the sky? Because according to documents, Sanskrit letters were created by Brahma, the god who created the universe. Brahma, commonly known as the "Four-faced Buddha" in China, is nicknamed "Brahma King". It is called Sanskrit because it was created by Brahma. Sanskrit letters are the characters used by the gods in heaven, so they are also called "heavenly cities". Each letter in the Sanskrit alphabet represents a source of strength. In India, people often meditate on the Sanskrit alphabet while practicing yoga. Correct pronunciation is needed when reciting Buddhist mantras, because the spelling and pronunciation of Sanskrit words are absolutely regular. Mantras spelled with Sanskrit letters can be spoken and written, and the pure Sanskrit pronunciation of mantras can be maintained, so spelling * * * with Sanskrit letters is the best choice for people who recite mantras. In the history of Indian writing, the writing format created by Brahma was that there were no spaces between words, so there were no spaces between words when writing Sanskrit and copying the sacred Vedas in India in ancient times, and there was no space between words until modern times. Right:19th century handwritten Sanskrit Rigveda. Note that the orthodox Sanskrit writing is that there is no space between words.

1. Volume II of Tang Xuanzang's Records of the Western Regions of Datang said: "Detailed characters, written by Brahma, original vertical rules, 47 characters" (47 letters). "

Second, "the Tang Dynasty Ximing Temple long (? -683) In his masterpiece Fa Zhu Yuan Lin, there is such a record: "Once upon a time, three people wrote books. Brahma, whose book is on the right; The second time, Lu Lu badminton, his book left; A few are pale, and their books fall. " (Zheng Da Zang, Vol. 53, p. 35 1, middle and lower)

King Brahma practices Buddhism.

Brahma King is gentle and full of four upright characters: compassion, benevolence, fraternity and justice. Buddhism calls it Brahma's four Sanskrit sounds, and it is also the four infinite hearts of Buddhism. Therefore, he is willing to bless and help all the gods and springs, especially those who practice the four Sanskrit sounds (boundless mind), and get a lot of money on the way to becoming a Buddha, regardless of financial aid and Buddhism. This spirit of fraternity is highly respected by Buddhism, although Brahma belongs to "God" rather than "Buddha" in Buddhism, because its spirit of fraternity is respected by believers as a "Buddha" on all sides, and it is convenient and skillful to practice Buddhism and Buddhism, subsidize wisdom and bodhi, and practice Brahma to obtain bodhi. The age of the heavenly king has reached 100 calendar year (each calendar year is equal to 3200 years on earth).

To practice Buddhism for the Great Brahma King, we must practice the Four Infinite Minds and the Four Great Brahma Behaviors in order to correspond to the Great Brahma King.

1. Kindness is boundless. May all beings be happy, corresponding to MITA before Brahma Buddha. All brothers in the four seas share weal and woe.

2. There is no end to sorrow, corresponding to Galula on the right side of the Great Brahma King, pulling out the suffering of all beings and helping the poor.

3. Happiness is boundless. On the left of the Brahma King-Mutiya, mortals are charitable and leave suffering. Bless all beings and share prosperity.

4. Give up the infinite heart, corresponding to Ubega behind the Great Brahma King. Give up the above three hearts without persistence, practice compassion and love the three Sanskrit without persistence, and complain that relatives are equal without hatred.

As long as you can practice Buddhism for a whole year (or less than a year), you can know that you have really improved your fortune and career status. After a year, I feel more and more excited, and the happiness I get is proportional to the size of my heart. Big heart, big heart, less happiness. If you are purely selfish and have no interest in the hearts of all beings, there will be no induction. This is what you must know. [ 1]

Not very respected in India.

Although Brahma is one of the three main gods of Hinduism, few Hindus really worship him. Today, there are tens of thousands of temples in India dedicated to Vishnu and Shiva, two of the three major gods, but temples dedicated to Brahma are extremely rare. The most famous Brahma Temple is located in Pushkar, a small town in Rajasthan. Other temples are located in Nawaye, Heeroo, Kerala, Khumbanan, Tangabur County, Tamil Nadu, Asutra, Balotera Town, Mayer County, bhombal, Rajasthan, Brahma-Kalmari in Sautory Town, Goa, Deke Blaha Ma, the county magistrate of Kanta County, Bensabat, Gujarat, and Kuru, the county magistrate of Kuru County, Himachal Pradesh. During the Nine Nights Festival, people go to the Brahma Temple in Navarro, Heeroo to offer sacrifices and celebrate. On the full moon night (10- 1 1) every year, people will start to celebrate Brahma. Thousands of worshippers will flock to Pusuka Lake, the holy lake next to Brahma Temple, to bathe.

Another Brahma temple is located in Thirupattur, Heeroo, near Tiruzi Rapali, a big city in Tamil Nadu. This temple is also a meditation place for Viakpata.

There is also a statue of Brahma in the town of Deke Blaha Ma in Gujarat. Brahma statue about 1.8 meters high was also found in Sopala near Mumbai. There is a temple dedicated to Brahma in Sri Kalahasti, Andhra Pradesh.

Many stories in Indian mythology mention that Brahma was not worshipped on earth because of his curse.

At the beginning of the universe, Vishnu and Brahma happened to meet Shiva's huge Lingjia, so they parted ways to find the beginning and end of Lingjia. Vishnu is responsible for finding the end point and Brahma is responsible for finding the starting point. Vishnu turned into a wild boar and kept digging down; Brahma turned into a swan and flew upward. But after searching for a long time, both sides still can't find the target. Vishnu had to give up and kneel in front of Shiva, indicating that Shiva is the true Brahma of the universe. But Brahma did not give up easily. He kept flying until he found the bougainvillea. As Brahma was not to be outdone, he asked the pandanus flower to make false testimony for him, saying that Brahma had discovered the starting point of Linga. At this time, the omniscient Shiva became angry and cursed Brahma so that he would not be worshipped by all beings in the three realms. But Shiva blessed Vishnu, saying that he would get the same worship as himself.

Another theory is that Brahma created Sarasvati, the goddess of wisdom, and Sarasvati was his daughter. Nevertheless, Brahma married her again, which violated ethics and was therefore unpopular. Because Brahma married his daughter, one of his heads was cut off by Shiva.

It is also said that Saint Briggs invited Brahma to attend a festival, but Brahma was immersed in his wife's eloquent music and completely ignored the call of the saint. The sage was furious and cursed Brahma. No one would worship him.

Widely worshipped in Thailand

Different from India, Brahma belief has been greatly developed in Southern Buddhism's Southeast Asia, Hongkong, Macau, especially Thailand. In Thailand, Brahma belief, which China calls the belief of four-faced Buddha, is said to have the function of blessing wealth and good luck in the world, and there are also many believers in Southeast Asia.

People in China generally call Brahma "Buddha of all directions" and call him "Buddha of all needs". Buddha has four faces, representing love, career, health and wealth, and is in charge of all human affairs. It is one of the most popular Buddha statues in Thailand. For those who believe in Buddhism, it is unthinkable to come to Bangkok without worshipping the four-faced Buddha, just like entering a temple without worshipping God. It is said that the efficacy of the four-faced Buddha is extraordinary. Therefore, some tourists travel to and from Thailand many times in order to make a wish in front of the Four Faces Buddha. Every year, many Hong Kong and Taiwan movie stars come to Thailand to worship the Four Faces Buddha, which shows the charm of the Four Faces Buddha.

Four-faced Buddha, formerly known as Brahma, is one of the three Brahmanism gods in India. He is the God who created heaven and earth and the father of all living beings. The heavenly king has infinite magic power in the sky, holds the wealth of the world and has lofty magic power. The Brahma King has four faces, eight ears, eight arms and eight hands. What each hand holds has its profound significance: one hand holds a flag (representing cosmic magic); Holding Buddhist scriptures (representing wisdom); Holding a snail (for blessing); One hand holds a bright wheel (representing disaster elimination, demon reduction and disaster elimination); Hold a power struggle (representing the highest achievement); Hand-held kettle (on behalf of quenching thirst, responsive); Holding a rosary (representing reincarnation); Hand-held breast handprint (for protection).

When people worship the four-faced Buddha, they usually use flowers, incense sticks, wooden statues, etc., or fly sparrows. Some people will hire some girls dressed in ancient Thai national costumes to sing and dance with music in front of the Buddha, so as to worship God and thank them for their wishes.
