A: The brain is a strange and eternal internal organ. The brain is located at the top, which is the marrow sea, with the head and face outside and the brain marrow inside. "On Soul Pivot and the Sea" says: "The brain is the marrow sea, which is lost in the cover and in the wind room." It is concluded that the brain is in the skull, from the top of the skull to the brain cavity of Fengfu point. The brain cavity is full of brain marrow, which is covered with meninges.
This is similar to the anatomy of the brain by western medicine. "Lingshu Jing" said: "Mr. Man, after the essence, the essence gives birth to the brain." "Lingshu Wuyi body fluid discrimination" says: "The body fluid of the five grains is combined into a paste, which penetrates into the bone and nourishes the brain." It is pointed out that the growth and development of brain and spinal cord depends on the metaplasia of congenital kidney essence and the supplement and nutrition of afterlife grain essence.
Physiological functions of the brain:
① Dominate life activities;
② Main spiritual consciousness;
③ Main sensory movement.
Compendium of Materia Medica says: "The brain is the master of the human body, also known as the house of Yuan God." "The human body can perceive movement, remember the past and the present, and handle everything, which is nothing more than the power of the brain." In short, the mind is actually full of gods
Although the brain is the mansion of the Yuan God, it belongs to the five internal organs, and its physiology and pathology are closely related to the five internal organs. Therefore, brain diseases are also treated from the viscera, which are related to the kidney, not only the kidney.
Mental and emotional diseases with abnormal mental consciousness and thinking activities can never be simply attributed to the pathological changes of the heart hiding the spirit, which has nothing to do with the other four organs. For brain lesions, it can not be simply attributed to the kidney, but has nothing to do with the other four viscera.
2. Why do people get old?
A: Chinese medicine has four views on the causes of human aging.
(1) theory of kidney deficiency and aging.
Aging is due to kidney deficiency, which is the viewpoint of Huangdi Neijing.
Huangdi Neijing holds that people's birth, growth, strength and aging are closely related to the rise and fall of kidney qi, so the fundamental reason of aging lies in the deficiency and decline of kidney. Kidney deficiency is divided into kidney yin deficiency and kidney yang deficiency. Both kidney yin deficiency and kidney yang deficiency can lead to aging, while kidney yang deficiency is more likely to lead to aging. Because the kidney is the innate foundation and the foundation of the five internal organs, Huangdi Neijing holds that kidney deficiency is the main source of aging.
(2) The theory of deficiency of the dirty.
The heart, liver, spleen, lung and kidney function of the five internal organs of the human body decline, which is easy to lead to aging. Huangdi Neijing holds that after the age of 40, the human body will have a dirty aging every ten years, such as liver failure at the age of 50, heart failure at the age of 60 and lung failure at the age of 80. Besides kidney deficiency, spleen deficiency is another major cause of human aging. Because the spleen is the foundation of the day after tomorrow, spleen and stomach weakness is the main source of qi and blood deficiency, so protecting the spleen and stomach is also an important measure to resist aging.
(3) Yin-Yang imbalance aging theory.
The Book of Changes holds that the interaction of Yin and Yang is the basis of the movement of all things. Both the Eight Diagrams and the Taiji Diagram show that the movement of Yin and Yang maintains a dynamic relative balance, and the destruction of the normal balance will lead to the imbalance of essence and qi and lead to aging. Huangdi Neijing holds that Yin and Yang are the foundation of life and death ("Yin and Yang are the source of life and death"), and Yin and Yang are the foundation of life ("The source of life lies in Yin and Yang"). Therefore, the balance of yin and yang means health and longevity, and the imbalance of yin and yang means illness and aging.
(4) the theory of qi and blood deficiency and aging.
Traditional Chinese medicine believes that sufficient qi and blood leads to health and longevity, while insufficient qi and blood leads to disease and aging. Because qi and blood are the essence and source of the five internal organs, the deficiency of qi and blood will inevitably lead to the decline of the function of the five internal organs and lead to aging, so Chinese medicine attaches great importance to the maintenance of qi and blood.
