The toxicological evaluation procedure of pesticide safety divides the toxicological evaluation of pesticides into four stages:
The first stage: animal acute toxicity test and skin and eye mucosa test;
The second stage: cumulative toxicity and mutation test;
The third stage: subchronic toxicity test (including delayed neurotoxicity test, two-generation reproductive test and teratogenic test) and metabolic test;
The fourth stage: chronic toxicity (including carcinogenesis) test.
For officially registered pesticides, the "program" is generally required to provide a complete set of information of the above four stages.
The toxicological test method of pesticide registration basically adopts scoring method to evaluate the results of pesticide toxicity test. For example, the acute toxicity of pesticides is divided into four grades, the skin irritation intensity of pesticides is divided into four grades, the skin sensitization intensity of pesticides is divided into five grades, and the cumulative toxicity of pesticides is divided into four grades.
