From what aspects can you observe the health of cattle at ordinary times?

Observing the health status of dairy cows is an essential skill for breeding managers. Now make a jingle, which is arranged as follows: eating before (forage), pulling after (defecation), taking temperature, checking posture, nose mirror, and poor milk production (milk production).

(1) Have a look before eating.

That is, it depends on appetite. Healthy cows have a big appetite, eat forage faster and start ruminating after eating. If the forage is fresh and mildew-free, it is a sign of illness if cows are found to smell the forage and are unwilling to eat or eat less.

(2) Pull back

That is, check feces and urine. The feces of healthy cows are round, with high edges and concave centers, emitting fresh cow dung flavor; The urine is light yellow and transparent. If the cow stool is found to be granular or diarrhea, or even smelly, mixed with blood and pus; Urine also changes, such as the color turns yellow or red, which is a sign that cattle are sick.

(3) Temperature measurement

Is to measure rectal temperature with a thermometer. Normal body temperature is 37.5 ~ 39.5℃. If the body temperature is above or below the normal range, it is a disease.

(4) Look up

Observe the overall attitude of cattle. Healthy cows have agile movements, flexible eyes, wagging tails from time to time and bright fur. If cows are found with dull eyes, rough fur, hunched back, standing still, or even shaking their tails, it is a sign of illness.

(5) nasal endoscope

No matter whether the weather is hot or cold, healthy cows always have sweat on their noses and are ruddy in color, day or night. If the nose mirror is dry and there is no sweat, it is a sign of illness.

(6) Low yield

It is to record the milk yield by weighing and compare the differences of milk yield from time to time. The milk yield of healthy cows is relatively stable. If milk production suddenly drops, it is a sign of illness.
