Green food standards are national industry standards and mandatory standards, and green food production enterprises must strictly implement them. At present, the standard system of green food in China includes environmental requirements, production operation, means of production, product packaging, storage and transportation and other related standards. These green food standard systems are established by referring to relevant standards at home and abroad and combining with the technical requirements that must be based on. They are the production technical specifications of green food producers and the basis and criteria for green food quality certification. Green food standard is a technical document based on green food certification, which applies the principles of science and technology, combines the production practice of green food and draws lessons from relevant standards at home and abroad. Green food standard is not a single product standard, but a very perfect standard system composed of a series of standards.

Article 24 of the Food Safety Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) shall formulate food safety standards for the purpose of safeguarding public health, and be scientific, reasonable, safe and reliable. Article 25 Food safety standards are mandatory standards. In addition to food safety standards, no other mandatory food standards may be formulated.

How many years is the right to use the green food sign?

The right to use the green food mark is 3 years. Products that have passed the green food certification can use the green food logo in a unified format, and the validity period is 3 years, counting from the date of obtaining the certificate through certification. After the expiration of the validity period, the production enterprise must re-apply for certification before continuing to use the mark and changing the number on the mark. If the re-application fails to pass the certification, the enterprise must immediately stop using the mark. During the three-year validity period, China Green Food Development Center will inspect the products every year according to the environment, production and quality standards of green food. If the product does not meet the requirements, the center will cancel the use mark of the product.
