2. When can I retire and reserve for several years?
Soldiers in active service, after retiring from active service, shall serve in the soldiers' reserve from the date of reserve registration, and shall be in the first-class reserve before the age of 28, and shall be transferred to active service at any time according to the needs of the country; 29-35 years old as the second-class reserve, and appropriately selected for active service according to the needs of the country; During the national mobilization in wartime, anyone under the age of 45 can resume active service. In peacetime, reserve soldiers are managed by the military departments of the people's armed forces of the districts and counties. Every year, the first-class reserve soldiers who have reached the age of 28 will be changed into second-class reserve soldiers, and the second-class reserve soldiers who have reached the age of 35 will be discharged from the reserve, and the files will be kept separately.

Article 26 The term of active service for conscripts shall be two years.

According to the needs of the army, non-commissioned officers can be recruited directly from citizens with professional skills in non-military departments.
Non-commissioned officers serve in active service and implement a graded service system. The term of active service for non-commissioned officers is generally not more than 30 years, and the age is not more than 55 years.
The measures for serving non-commissioned officers in active service according to grades and recruiting non-commissioned officers directly from non-military departments shall be implemented in accordance with the relevant provisions of the state and the army.
Article 28 Soldiers shall be discharged from active service after the expiration of their active service.
Soldiers who need to be discharged from active service due to national construction or military establishment adjustment, who are diagnosed by military hospitals as unfit to continue active service, or who need to be discharged from active service for other special reasons, may be discharged from active service ahead of schedule upon approval.
Article 36 Officers in active service who have reached the highest age or rank in active service according to regulations shall be discharged from active service; If it is necessary to extend active service or suspend retirement from active service, it shall be implemented in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
Officers in active service who have not reached the prescribed maximum age or rank for active service and need to be discharged from active service due to special circumstances may be discharged from active service upon approval.
