Taizhou Nanshan Temple Nanshan Temple Daxiong Hall is the double eaves of Immortal Hall, and the big column in the hall is a rare ancient golden nanmu. The double-eaved roof of the Temple of Heaven belongs to the highest roof style in the history of ancient architecture in China, and is generally used in the main halls of palaces and temples. It belongs to the same type as the Hall of Supreme Harmony in Beijing and Dai Temple in Shandong. Only the Confucian Temple in Suzhou and the Nanshan Temple in Taizhou, Jiangsu Province are in this form. Professor Chen Congzhou, a famous ancient architecture expert and landscape artist in China, spoke highly of it when he visited Taizhou. This used to be the cultural center of ancient Taizhou. 1957, the temple was listed as the "Cultural Relics Protection Unit of Jiangsu Province".
Things have changed, and Nanshan Temple has experienced thousands of years of wind and frost. After the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), Nanshan Temple was changed into a factory, and the buildings in the temple were gradually demolished, leaving only the Ursa Major Hall (now called Tongyuan Hall) and several houses for monks to live in. On 20 1 1 year, Taizhou started the restoration of Nanshan Temple in an all-round way. After the demolition is completed, the construction will be started in June 20 14.
