I. Current situation of occupational diseases
1. China has the largest working population in the world. In 20 19, the number of employed people in China reached 775 million, and most workers' careers exceeded half of their life cycle. By the end of 20 18, 975,000 cases of occupational diseases had been reported nationwide, including 873,000 cases of occupational pneumoconiosis. The results of sampling survey show that there are about120,000 enterprises with occupational hazards in China, and more than 200 million workers are exposed to various occupational hazards. Wu Zongzhi emphasized that due to the low coverage of occupational health examination and the imperfect employment system, the actual number of cases is much higher than that reported.
2. Common occupational diseases include respiratory diseases caused by dust and chemicals, skin diseases caused by chemical poisoning, and so on. Long-term unprotected contact may be life-threatening. The Classification and Catalogue of Occupational Diseases jointly issued by the National Health and Family Planning Commission, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the State Administration of Work Safety and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions in 20 13 classified occupational diseases into 132 categories. These diseases involve respiratory system, skin, eyes, ears, nose, throat and mouth, which are extremely harmful to the life and health of employees.
3. Among many occupational diseases, pneumoconiosis is one of the most concerned diseases, and it is also the most serious and common occupational disease in China. Pneumoconiosis is a group of occupational lung diseases, mainly due to long-term inhalation of productive dust in occupational activities, which leads to diffuse fibrosis of lung tissue and stays in the lungs. The patient has cough, chest pain and dyspnea, which seriously affects the quality of life of the patient.
