Honghu Lake belongs to subtropical humid monsoon climate, characterized by long winter and summer, short spring and autumn, distinct four seasons, abundant sunshine, abundant rainfall, moderate humidity, hot summer and cold winter, precipitation concentrated in spring and summer, and more floods.
Historically, Honghu Lake belongs to the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River east of Yunmengze, and the lake is light green. Honghu Lake is the lake with the richest organic matter content in all lakes in Hubei, and it is also an important freshwater fish producing area in China. There are 84 kinds of fish. Fishing grounds and farms are densely distributed around the lake.
