Zhao Yidi was born into a prestigious official family. His father, Zhao Qinghua (a native of Yu Zi Mountain), is from Lanxi, Zhejiang. During the Beiyang government, he served as the director of railway bureaus such as Jinpu, Shanghai-Nanjing and Guangjiu, served as the diplomatic adviser of the three northeastern provinces, and was the official to the second minister of transportation. He is a good man and an honest official in Geng Jie.
Zhao Yidi's biological mother named Lu Baozhen was a concubine, but she looked down on the warlord's son Zhang Xueliang all her life. Born in poverty, Lu Baozhen was sent to a large family as a maid at an early age. At that time, her parents sent her to Sheng Xuanhuai, the richest man in the late Qing Dynasty, as a servant.
Zhang Xueliang and Zhao Yidi
100-year-old Zhang Xueliang expressed unspeakable grief over the death of Zhao Yidi. He sat in a wheelchair silently, tears streaming down his face. Zhang Xueliang once said that he owed Miss Zhao Si too much in his life.
Zhang Xueliang's idea of returning to the mainland never came true, and Zhao Yidi's health was one of the main considerations. She is old and sick, but Zhang Xueliang is hard of hearing, but as long as his wife speaks in her ear.
At the end of his life, Zhao Yidi still tried to take care of Zhang Xueliang's various trifles personally. In an interview with reporters on the occasion of Zhang Xueliang's centenary birthday, he said, "My wife is very good. She cares about me the most."
