For teenagers, maintaining mental health should do the following:

(1) Psychological characteristics are consistent with age. Teenagers' cognitive, emotional, will and other psychological processes, as well as personality characteristics, should conform to the law of age growth. It is not as naive as childhood psychology, nor as mature as adults, but shows the characteristics that teenagers should have, which is the basic condition of mental health.

(2) Maintain an optimistic and stable mood. Optimistic and stable mood helps to improve the efficiency of study and work. In the face of difficulties and adversity, maintaining an optimistic mood will enhance self-confidence. Optimistic and stable mood is an important sign of mental health.

(3) Love learning. Learning is the leading activity in adolescence, which lays the foundation for entering adulthood and society. Clear the purpose of learning and cultivate your interest in learning, and you will take learning as a pleasure and take the initiative to learn, so that learning will not become a burden. Not only does it not increase psychological pressure, but it is also beneficial to mental health.

(4) Establish good interpersonal relationships. In family, school and various environments, we should maintain a harmonious relationship with parents, teachers and classmates. In dealing with others, we should treat others equally, respect and understand others, and be ready to help others at any time. We should establish proper friendship with classmates and find bosom friends. Try to be a popular person in family, school and various occasions.

(5) Self-adjustment and adaptation to the environment. When they are dissatisfied with their environment or encounter misfortune or frustration, some people often have negative emotions such as depression, sadness and anxiety, and lose their psychological balance. At this time, we should take a positive attitude, ease our emotions and adjust our expectations of reality, so as to face the reality with the most appropriate attitude, adapt to the environment, deal with problems and increase our tolerance.

(6) Accept your gender identity. Teenagers should correctly understand and treat their gender identity, do things that conform to their gender identity, be satisfied with whether they are men or women, and never feel inferior because of their gender. Only by consciously understanding and correctly treating one's sexual identity can one happily accept one's sexual identity and maintain a good psychological state. This is also an important symbol of adolescent mental health.

Emotion is the core of psychological activities and has great influence on physical and mental health. Therefore, learning to consciously regulate and control emotions is an important part of mental health care. In our daily life and study, everything we do is emotional: when we get good grades in the exam, we will feel happy; When you lose something precious, you will feel sorry; If the desire is blocked again and again and cannot be achieved, it will be disappointed and even angry; When you enter a strange environment, you will feel embarrassed and even afraid. These emotional activities, such as joy, sadness, anger and fear, will cause a series of physiological changes in the body. According to scientific research, positive and healthy emotions, such as pleasure, joy and moderate tension, are beneficial to human health. They can increase cardiac output, promote blood circulation, make people feel refreshed and enhance the working ability of the brain. The physiological changes caused by negative emotions such as sadness, grief, anger and anxiety are not good for people's health. If the body is under the influence of these bad emotions for a long time, it will often lead to a variety of diseases, such as hypertension, gastric ulcer, psychological disorders and so on. Therefore, teenagers should understand the important role of emotions in protecting mental health and learn to self-regulate and control emotions.

To adjust and control emotions, we must cultivate our optimistic attitude towards life. No matter what difficulties and setbacks you encounter, you should face them with an optimistic and positive attitude. I believe there will always be a way to solve the problem, so you can face the reality bravely, work hard, never be disappointed, and be full of confidence and hope for the future. This optimism often brings positive emotions. Second, we should properly vent the bad emotions accumulated in our hearts. For example, you can pour out your troubles and sorrows to your bosom friends and so on. Doing so helps to eliminate the troubles and depression in the heart, thus achieving peace of mind. This kind of venting is good for mental health. Third, we should maintain proper tension and enthusiasm. Tension is an emotion that can maintain and improve the efficiency of study and work. For example, nervousness during exams can make brain function achieve the highest efficiency; You also need to be nervous when you are in class or doing something. Moderate relaxation will make life more rhythmic and interesting. Fourth, be good at controlling yourself rationally. Teenagers' demands and wishes should conform to social morality and norms, otherwise they should be dispelled by reason, and society and others cannot be asked to satisfy all their wishes. Doing so is conducive to maintaining psychological balance and cultivating healthy emotions.
