Why is it difficult for deaf people to find jobs? How should deaf people deal with the problem of finding a job?

Employment difficulty is the most serious problem that puzzles deaf people. The employment rate of the deaf is even much lower than that of the blind and the disabled, and the unemployment rate is also higher than that of the blind and the disabled, not to mention the people with normal hearing. There are many reasons why it is difficult for deaf people to find jobs: (1) Poor cultural knowledge. At present, the quality and progress of teaching in schools for the deaf can't be compared with those in ordinary schools, and the cultural knowledge mastered by the deaf is far less than that of students in ordinary schools, and the quality of deaf students is far less than that of students in normal schools. Although deaf people can go to college today, colleges and universities that recruit deaf people are all single-recruitment and single-examination, and the examination requirements are lower than the national unified college entrance examination; Deaf students in colleges and universities can't master the cultural and professional foundation on a par with normal hearing people because of their weak foundation. However, society will not give deaf people a single standard, and at present, the state has no special preferential policies or preferential policies for deaf people's employment. Therefore, in the face of a society with a large population and difficult employment, it is difficult for deaf people who leave school to compete for more and more hearing people. Departments with large social employment and the most stable jobs: civil servants, teachers and deaf people are also difficult to pass because of their weak cultural foundation. A few deaf people enter deaf schools as teachers, and most of them succeed with the help of family relationships. (2) The educational background is relatively low. At present, there is no single unit in China to recruit deaf graduate students. If deaf people want to apply for graduate students, they must compete with healthy people. Because the culture of deaf people, especially English, is far from the requirements of postgraduate entrance examination, it is basically impossible to be admitted to graduate school. At present, the graduate students of deaf students who have graduated or are studying for a master's degree or above in China have all graduated from ordinary high schools, and have remained excellent from primary school to university. No deaf student has graduated from a deaf school. The society demands higher and higher academic qualifications for people. For example, the basic requirements for recruiting national civil servants are bachelor degree or above to doctor degree, kindergarten, primary school and junior high school teachers require bachelor degree, high school teachers require master degree and university teachers require doctor degree. Nowadays, higher education has become popular. Deaf people who only hold junior college and undergraduate diplomas are not particularly competitive, and it is difficult for them to enter fine, sophisticated and high-quality institutions. (3) Narrow majors At present, there are only three majors for deaf people in colleges and universities: art, computer application and landscape design. These three majors are neither popular majors in universities nor popular majors in employment, and they have no special employment advantages; There are two or three provincial colleges and universities for the deaf who take only one exam and one recruit, so it is difficult to compete with the graduates of famous schools; Colleges and universities all over the country have basically set up art design and computer majors, and the number of graduates is huge. Therefore, the deaf can only compete with inferior conditions (lack of listening, language and culture) in the crowded employment force, and most of them get surplus jobs with low income or unstable jobs, and even many deaf people can't find jobs. (4) Hearing language barriers and departmental discrimination Hearing language barriers affect deaf people's timely and effective information collection, and also affect deaf people's application, and the range of choices is greatly limited. Although the social environment for accepting disabled people has been greatly improved in recent years, it is still far from ideal. Discrimination against deaf people still exists in many departments, and the rejection of deaf people is endless. So, how do deaf people cope with the employment pressure and difficulties? (1) To further improve academic qualifications and culture, parents and schools for the deaf should make great efforts to improve the cultural level of deaf students, strictly start from an early age, and especially attach importance to foreign language learning like deaf people. Middle schools and institutions of higher learning for the deaf should improve the teaching quality of deaf students in foreign languages and politics and other related disciplines, and strive to create conditions for deaf students to apply for graduate students. Deaf people who enter universities should strive to improve their foreign language level on the basis of studying hard in various subjects, actively take college foreign language exams, and strive to apply for a master's degree before graduation. At the same time, actively apply for civil servants, teachers and other national institutions, and strive to get these most stable professional positions. (2) It is not particularly difficult for modern people to acquire knowledge by strengthening character cultivation and quality improvement, and there are also many people holding various professional diplomas. With the great richness of modern life and products, the competition among various industries has been continuously strengthened or even heated, which requires all industries to continuously improve their service level and product creativity, and the fluctuation of modern people's life and industry transformation have become frequent. So many times, people and units pay more attention to people's character. But personal character, cultivation and quality need a long time to cultivate and hone. Therefore, living habits, life attitude, personality temperament, manners, self-management and so on have all become important factors that determine success. Deaf people should strengthen their exercise and hone their moral character, self-discipline, honesty, sensitivity, creativity, speaking ability, practical ability, communication ability, cooperation ability, down-to-earth and so on. (3) Learning advantages and professional skills On the basis of learning well the cultures and majors of various subjects in the university, deaf people should be good at sizing up the situation, analyzing and studying the demand for social talents, and at the same time be good at discovering their own strengths, and strive to give full play to their own strengths and specialties, so as to make themselves "better" in one aspect or some aspects, walk ahead of others, and even be unique. Forging one's own specialty for Excellence is just like product design and manufacturing. "People have no me, people have no me, people have no me, and people have no me." In modern life, opportunism cannot last long. You must make your skills more valuable than others, so that you can stand out in the employment force. (4) The opportunities for learning and starting a business are always limited, while the opportunities for starting a business are unlimited. Although there are unpredictable risks in starting a business, deaf people face great difficulties in starting a business because of hearing and language barriers, but there are still some deaf people who succeed in starting a business and become rich, such as Liu Zhaoren, Gao Xiaofeng and Bao Jianxin. Deaf people need to have entrepreneurial awareness as soon as possible, exercise entrepreneurial ability and actively accumulate entrepreneurial information and experience. At the same time, I am good at discovering and grasping opportunities, being brave in trying, not afraid of failure, constantly innovating and determined until I succeed.
