First of all, I will tell you a story about the tortoise: the tortoise is slow and innocent, and it is a very lovely animal. However, in 1983, the lovely turtles suffered a disaster: in many parts of the world, a large number of turtles died collectively. At first people thought that the tortoise was starved to death, but later it was found that the "murderer" who killed the tortoise turned out to be a plastic bag! Scientists found that there were many plastic bags in the tortoise's stomach, but there was 15 in a tortoise. The reason is that turtles mistakenly swallow plastic bags floating on the sea surface as delicious food, leading to indigestion and death. Where did these plastic bags come from? In fact, people throw it into the sea with other domestic garbage, or throw it on the ground, and it flows into rivers and oceans with rainwater. Who doesn't have a small plastic bag? Who hasn't used it? Who hasn't thrown it? Who would have thought that the plastic bags they throw around would cause such great harm to the environment? The turtle experience made me realize the importance of protecting the environment. We only have one earth, and the earth is our common home. Protecting the environment is the obligation of every citizen and is closely related to every citizen. However, some people have a weak awareness of environmental protection and often do some behaviors that damage the environment, such as littering, spitting, picking flowers and catching beneficial insects. When it comes to environmental protection, they think it is a matter for state-owned enterprises.
There's nothing I can do. In fact, protecting the environment can start from the things around us and start from the small things. Using less plastic bags, throwing less garbage and destroying less flowers and trees are environmental protection behaviors that everyone can do. As small citizens of society, we should also do our duty to protect the environment. Starting from me, from now on, I will try to be an environmental protection guard. In this way, our sky will be bluer and the water will be clearer.
The mountains will be greener, the air will be fresher, and natural creatures such as turtles will be healthier and more lovely.
