The religious dances of the black Africans include the dance of worshipping the gods, the dance of exorcism, the funeral dance, the dance of asking for rain, the dance of reciting incantations, and the dance of praying for the success of fishing and hunting, and so on. These dances are both solo and group dances. For example, the Yawi dance of the Ghanaians, the Abo dance of the Browns, the Tigali dance of northern Africa, the Adua dance of the Ashanti, and the Fonthang Furlong dance of the Akan are all religious dances performed at the time of worship.
