How to cherish your textbooks?

Textbooks are an important tool for our study, with high usage rate and easy wear and tear. Shortly after the start of school, some students' textbooks have been rolled up; By the middle of the semester, some people's textbooks have been worn out or even lost, which not only brings trouble to their studies, but also is a waste.

When distributing new textbooks, it is best to wrap a book cover (don't buy ready-made plastic book covers, use old calendar paper or other waste hard paper), and cherish it in the usual use process, and don't scribble. At the end of the term, organize them one by one and take them out for review. When not in use, it can be used as a recycling textbook for students in poor areas. In fact, in America, all textbooks are recycled. Even if we keep it, it will be a warm memory for us to come up with a well-protected textbook after a few years as adults. Some students have used their new textbooks for less than half a semester and lost them, so they have to buy another one. Such waste is very bad for us to form a good character, so we must make up our minds to get rid of it.

Reusing textbooks is the general trend. Reducing the use of a new textbook can reduce paper consumption by about 0.2 kg, save energy by 0.26 kg of standard coal, and correspondingly reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 0.66 kg. If China recycles 1/3 textbooks every year, it will reduce paper consumption by about 200,000 tons, save energy by 260,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide by 660,000 tons.

When there is oil stain on the book, put 1 piece of absorbent paper on the oil stain, and scald it a few times to make the oil stain absorb on the paper, so that the pages are smooth and clean.

If the book is polluted by ink, you can put 1 absorbent paper under the pages stained with ink, soak the stains with 20% hydrogen peroxide solution, then put 1 absorbent paper on the pages and press a heavy object on them. In this way, the ink is dissolved and absorbed by hydrogen peroxide, and the ink traces naturally disappear after drying.

If there are traces of moisture on the book, you can clean it with alum solution. If it is rust, you can wipe it off with oxalic acid or citric acid solution, then wash the pages with clear water, flatten them with blotting paper and dry them.
