How to develop the right brain

1. Write with left hand. Careful viewers may find that foreigners in many foreign films often use their left hand to write on the blackboard when giving lectures, and some celebrities also use their left hand to sign their names. From this point of view, we also need to practice our left hand.

Writing with the left hand can be divided into two aspects. On the one hand, we use our left hand to write from left to right, which is to try to use the left hand to replace the function of the right hand. On the other hand, you use your left hand to write mirror-image characters from right to left. That is, after writing, set up a mirror on the left or turn the paper to the other side and look at the bright light. What you see is the straight character. I personally suspect that this may be the most effective way to promote communication between the left and right brains, and it may also be a real use of the right brain. When you calm down and write mirror words easily, you will definitely be surprised why such an interesting phenomenon occurs.

2. Brush your teeth with your left hand. This is also a great opportunity to exercise your left hand and activate your right brain. The initial brushing movements with your left hand must be gentle. Excessive movements can easily damage your gums and cause you to lose interest and confidence in brushing your teeth with your left hand. Even when you are able to use your left hand to brush your teeth proficiently, you will still find a very interesting phenomenon: your right hand will always make forceful movements, or it will be placed very stiffly at a certain angle, making it difficult for you to brush your teeth with your left hand. Brushing your teeth with your right hand is as easy and natural as your left hand.

3. Use scissors in your left hand. Since most of us are right-handed, the scissors we usually see are "right-handed scissors", that is, the right side of the scissors is placed upward in order to correspond to the adduction function of the thumb. Because we cannot find "left-handed scissors" for the time being, when using conventional scissors with the left hand, only the left thumb can be used with inward and downward force to achieve the purpose of cutting paper and cutting lines.

4. Use mouse with left hand. With the improvement of living standards, the popularity of computers is also getting higher and higher. We can hardly do without computers at work and off work. It is recommended that you practice using the mouse with your left hand. First, observe whether your mouse is symmetrical. Since there are many left-handed people in foreign countries, most mouse products from international brands such as IBM, Microsoft, and Logitech are symmetrical. In the Windows operating system, the mouse option in the control panel can change the left and right buttons so that it becomes a left-handed mouse.

Exercising your left hand to use the mouse has at least two benefits: A. Reduces carpal tunnel syndrome caused by long-term use of the mouse; B. Extends the life of the mouse by at least 50%.

5. Eat with your left hand. The dining habits of Chinese people that are different from those of Westerners is the use of chopsticks. Some people once proudly attributed this to one of the reasons why Chinese people can achieve good results in world-class intelligence competitions. But we should also see that compared with the "left and right fighting" of Westerners using knives and forks, we have lost the most common opportunity to balance the left and right hands. Therefore, it is recommended to gradually train your left hand to use a spoon and eat with chopsticks.

6. Turn the pen with your left hand. I often see people turning the pen in their hands in a dizzying manner. Although I personally do not agree with this behavior, if you are particularly fond of turning the pen, I suggest you start practicing it with your left hand again. It's annoying when it keeps falling to the ground.

7. Starting from the functional positioning of the right brain. Russian medical experts have achieved significant results by using music to treat premature and mentally retarded infants. Americans found that listening to background music significantly improved memory for subjects. A survey found that more than 90% of senior executives in the U.S. Congress and Fortune 500 companies received music education in their childhood. Because the right brain is related to music, rhythm, painting, intuition, sense of space, integrity, imagination and synthesis, etc., listening to more music, being exposed to more paintings, and imagining more are also good ways to develop the right brain.

The right brain has a very weak bias, but it is not only responsible for creativity. Research shows that any function involves both the left and right brains. What enables humans to think both creatively and analytically are the connections between all brain areas. The connections between all brain areas enable humans to engage in creative or logical activities. The left and right brains have complementary functions. Even if one side of the brain is removed, one can still live as usual.
