The story of Guanyin's visit to Buddha for Buddhist scriptures has been written in detail before, so this series is omitted.
The Tang Priest left Chang 'an and met Liu Boqin, a true mountain guard, in the two boundary mountains. Liu Boqin showed great strength and defeated Tiger Essence. Tang Priest went to Liu Jiaan to rest under the protection of Liu Boqin. On the anniversary of Liu's father's death, I asked Tang Priest to help him hold a ceremony. The original text says:
The old man washed his hands, burned incense in front of the Taibao family hall, and worshipped the family hall. When Sanzang struck the wooden fish, he read the mantra of cleansing the mouth and body first, then the mantra of cleansing the body and mind, and then opened a volume of Solo Sutra. After the recitation, Birch asked me to write a letter of recommendation to Wu Shu, and then read the Diamond Sutra and Guanyin Sutra and recite them one by one. After the recitation, I had lunch and read Beijing Classic and Tommy Classic. Read a few volumes each and a peacock classic. What are we talking about? The story of the washing industry is early and late. He offered all kinds of incense, turned the immortal into a paper horse, and burned letters of recommendation and death. Buddhism is over, and everyone is sleeping.
At first, the Tang Priest said that he was sitting high in Chang 'an, and Guanyin Bodhisattva turned into a monk. He stopped him and said, "That monk, you only talk about the Hinayana teaching method, can you talk about Mahayana?" Guanyin emphasized that the so-called Buddhism mentioned by Tang Priest is all Hinayana Buddhism.
Hearing this, the Tang Priest was shocked. He quickly got down from his seat, bowed to Guanyin and said, "Teacher, father, disciples are at fault. The monks who met Gai all talked about Mahayana teaching, but they didn't know what Mahayana teaching was. " Here, the Tang Priest made it clear that he and all the monks in the Tang Dynasty read the Hinayana Buddhist scriptures, and naturally talked about Hinayana Buddhism.
Guanyin said with a high profile, "Your Hinayana teaching method can't help the dead ascend to heaven, but it can only be vulgar and light." I have Mahayana Buddhism Sanzang, who can transcend death and ascend to heaven, overcome people's hardships, cultivate infinite life and govern by doing nothing. "Guanyin said publicly that Hinayana Buddhism can only cross itself, not others. However, Mahayana Buddhism is different. It can not only save people from pain, but also have the secret of longevity. Compared with the low efficacy of Hinayana Buddhism, there is a world of difference.
The Tang Priest also wanted to ask, but Guanyin Bodhisattva flew to the sky, saying only that if you want to obtain Mahayana Buddhism, you must go to Leidayin Temple in Lingshan.
That is to say, in Guanyin, Tang Priest only heard the name of Mahayana Buddhism, but never saw or heard Mahayana Buddhism with his own eyes-that is to say, all the scriptures Tang Priest read at Liu Boqin's home were Mahayana Buddhism. At dawn the next day, Liu Boqin's family of three said that they had made a ghost of Qimxy, Liu Boqin's old father, who had been dead for more than a year and had not been reborn, to tell their families:
In addition to the suffering of the underworld, you can't live for a long time. Today, thanks to the holy monk, I read the scriptures and got rid of evil karma. The prince sent someone to send me to an elderly family in China. You can thank your elders, don't neglect, don't neglect. I'll go, too.
In order to convince readers that his father's dream is not false, the author specially wrote a daughter-in-law to describe the dream, and then Liu's mother took the initiative to describe the dream to her son and daughter-in-law. The author just wants to tell us that there is no collusion between the Liu family, and his father is really dreaming.
In other words, Tang Priest read Hinayana Buddhism and successfully saved Liu's sinful father.
If Mahayana Buddhist scriptures have the effect of dissolving ghosts and gods, then why did Tang Priest go all the way to the West to learn from them? In a flash, fourteen years later, the Tang Priest finally arrived in Lingshan. After handing the purple and gold bowls, Ananda and Ye Jia finally began to preach the scriptures. Tathagata has been preaching that he has the Mahayana Buddhism Sanzang, 15 144. How much did the two respected people pass on to Tang Priest? Volume 5048! Tang Priest and his disciples worked hard for fourteen years, banishing demons and promoting Buddhism, and made great contributions. As a result, the scriptures I got were just a hidden number!
Buddha to Buddha, make a 30% discount, Tang Xiao can't afford to hurt! Among the more than 5,000 Buddhist scriptures handed down by Tang Priest, what are the specific scriptures? The original text says:
400 volumes of Nirvana Sutra ... The first volume of Shurangama Sutra is 30 volumes, the Diamond Sutra is 1 volume ... The Beijing Daily is 10 volumes ... The Bodhisattva Sutra is 60 volumes and the Great Peacock Sutra is 14 volumes. ...
We will be surprised to find that Tang Priest read seven kinds of scriptures that day, two of which have exactly the same names, and two of them are suspected to be the same.
What's going on here?
The Journey to the West's eighth album is called "I made Buddhist scriptures to preach bliss, and Guanyin was ordered to Chang 'an". In the article, the Tathagata himself said, "I have three true scriptures today, which can persuade people to be kind." The implication is that "Sanzang Zhen Jing" was created by Tathagata, who owns the original copyright. However, why are there many original Mahayana Buddhist scriptures?
Does the Tathagata also infringe on the intellectual property rights of others? As I said before, Mr. Wu Cheng'en's knowledge of Buddhism is very general, and he is not a Buddhist. However, the repetition of the title is a clerical error. If there are four classics with the same name (or similar) in succession, there will be a problem! Wu Cheng'en really doesn't understand Buddhism. He can fabricate some so-called Hinayana Buddhist scriptures, just as he fabricated many Buddhist names in the 100 session.
As a great writer, generally speaking, his words are written after careful consideration.
So, what is the meaning of this seemingly flaw in Wu Cheng'en's works?
